Profile

welcome
this is the profile of Platonist aka Lunari (Jonas Loman)
I'm archiving a lot of my old stuff right now, so mind the year when listening!
Because of this my actually recent tracks are kinda buried. So here's a few links:

2025:
fuzion_mixer & Platonist - In This World (Feat. SYNX)

2024:
Lunari - The Lightkeeper

[archive gap, working on it! o7]

2009:
Platonist - Beaten I Musiken
Platonist - Atom Wind (2009 Edit)

About my modules on TMA:
"Lunari" is strictly for trance or related sub-genres.
"Platonist" doesn't have any genre boundaries, it's more about the sounds and techniques used, usually an evolving sample pack for a project album. It could be chiptune, house, trance, electro, d&b, synth - anything electronic really.

history
Born in 1984 in southern Sweden.
Started playing the piano early (2yo?), drums in elementary school, guitar in middle school & finally bass guitar at 29.
Tracking since 1998 after finding the community #trax on IRC, eager to join in on the fun, first in fast tracker (for a few months) then in Impulse Tracker & eventually Schism.
Had a net label on angelfire from 1998-2001 called Radical Motion - or tracker group as we called it back then with the mod ring enabled and all. ToT
Joined Sound Alliance in 1999 while still doing the core as The Source/Da Source
Had a guest release on Sublogic Corporation in 2001 as lunari (now also available here on TMA)
Lost a lot of my early work in a HDD crash in 2002.
Started Reunion in 2006, which can still be found here.
Submitted my first OC ReMix in 2007 (made in impulse tracker as well) and it passed the judges panel in 2008.
Graduated from The Music Production program at Linnaeus University in 2012.
In 2013 Reunion went on a 6 year hiatus as more & more artists went to spotify & soundcloud.
I was no different and posted most of my stuff from that point on here, but eventually ran out of upload space/time.
In 2018 I started using Renoise 3 as well.
In 2019 I rebooted Reunion, it lasted for two years and then it died again. :(
In 2022, Unreleased Goa Records released a renoise version of my old lunari album The First Moon.
Joined forces with fuzzy on TQC in 2024
Returned to TMA in 2025

future
Archiving as much of my past as possible, including converting some non-compliant .its to .mptm thanks to massive help from Saga Musix!
Working on new Lunari material, mostly in Renoise & occasionally Schism.
Platonist has been on the shelf for a while, but I'm getting antsy, need more chip.

have a nice day

TheGoofy-Mouse: Hi! First off all, thank you for your kind words! Much appreciated. ^^
For your question, I don't know what to say, honestly. I just make the stuff I want to make, and you'd have to ask me 20 years ago, as most of the tracks i upload right now are around that age. I guess studying and playing instruments have helped me over the years, let's me have a more hands on relationship with music, but it's different for everyone. No magic recipe I'm afraid. Pay attention and don't rush it. :)

Re: Hello Platonist! I really appreciate your music. I'm starting to make music on trackers. I'd like to know how you manage to make such incredible songs. Not that I'm going to plagiarize you, obviously :) but just as a form of inspiration.

Re: Your recent upload of "Maraton" reminded me a lot of "Flames", of which I only have an old 128kbit MP3. Have you considered uploading the original module as well? :)

Platonist: Cool, glad to hear that!

Re: Yes, it's on the list. :) Just need to make sure the stuff is still up to snuff. Like with Maraton i had to edit the bass a bit. Both tracks are from the same album that was only briefly posted on my website back in the day, which is now just a back end for reunion. But it's all going up here, one at a time.
