Esprit Euphoetry: Hi, I cannot really record my desktop when I make a song because the process is fragmented usually. I'll write one part then do something else and then come back to it. Inspiration is needed to create something good, and its not always there for me. I'm not the kind of person who can summon it up. What I can say is that 90% of my music making process is in my head, and the remaining 10% is what I do in the tracker and that comes from years of playing an instrument, learning music theory, experimentation. So if you want to make modules, you should learn a lot about music, and the rest is not so hard.

I would like to see a record of your desktop when you make your next song. I am comforterable with lyrics and not the simple tracking. I would like your help, since I like everything you make so far. ModTomIT: Well, if it isn't someone's cup of tea, they luckily have thousands of other modules to listen to, so don't take this as a "your style is no longer welcome" warning or anything. I just notice that a lot of the regular contributors on TMA seem to have big problems with moving out of their comfort zone so after a while, all their tunes start following the same pattern and sound the same. Which is a shame really, because why keep writing the same tune again and again if something new can be discovered by experimenting?

Re: Well, taking your suggestion I tried to do something new that had percussion and different samples but it didn't turn out very well, so I uploaded a chiptune I made back in 2013 called "Complex Chip" that has percussion and other waveforms. I'll keep trying new things and see if anything is worthy of being uploaded. Me and the friend who is the muse I make my music mostly for do like the single-square-wave-only aesthetic because it just...well, it has a certain, dark-but-not-evil feel that captures the subconscious mind sort of I think, but I could definitely see someone who listens to modarchive every day and wants to see what is new being bothered by all these songs I make if it's not their cup of tea, so I'll cut it out for a while.
