I've been looking for this for years and finally thought to search for "1989", and here it is! This is the quintessential mod to me, no crazy effects, no composite samples, just straightforward composition, but the result comes together as genuine music. Could the format do more? Sure, but.... why? I'll refrain from commenting on the question posed by the text.

What a gem! Can't believe I found this again. It's short and sweet, lives up to its name and then WHAM the vocal sample throws it into a new context. Then just as quickly, it's over.

I remember being mystified that this mod was so much smaller than all the others I had, yet still sounded great. It's far from the smallest anymore, but at the time it blew my mind and to this day it's a catchy tune.
