Title: This sounds good!!!!!!!!!

Pat yourself on the back and put "This sounds good!!!!!!!!!" for a title and you have this song. Starting out with that classic "This one's dedicated to all the ravers in the nation" sample we've all heard a thousand times and then a bleep-bleep main "sound" that just repeats itself for just about the rest of the song. The form of the file further convinces me that the author had no real idea of how the tracker worked. Each sound in the entire song is put on two channels (or four...), and the samples all originate from three other songs. There's just about no effects in the entire song, and all the stereo pannings are center. Also, the sample text hasn't been modified the slightest, and there's no message in the message section, so there's no clue as to who made this song. Maybe this was a safty precaution... but unfortionately filename and other songs reveal who it was. This sounds good!!!!!!!!!? - i doubt it.

This is a good song, but it lacks the real feeling that a top tune should have. As to the music part of it, nothing's wrong, but I'd like something more before i class this mod any higher. Some of the string samples sound slightly untuned, which gives quite a bad impression. Also, if you loop this song, a looped sample will stay in the background during all of the intro, and even if this song wasnt meant to be looped, this doesn't sound very professional. The rest of the song fits in very well though, and it seems the artist knows pretty well what he's doing.

Some people just don't know when to give up... here's a good example of that. Take a good idea, a good song, and ruin it compleately. The first version of this is Use the force luke, take a look at that review. Next one that came was UTFL mixoperdixo, now this. Should have stopped after the first one... This song has now lost all it once has, reducing it to a collection of samples played in a rather repetetive way. Beginning sounds all horrible with a single sample used in short burst. The tune gets a bit better but never gets anywhere near good. Then it ends as horribly as it started.

This tune is actually quite ok, if you ignore the beginning, which is quite horrible. Especially the bass track with the slides sounds good. Other than that, this sounds like your typical classic mod / synth track. The beginning of the song is, as i said before, quite horrible. This in both the sense that the sling used is horrible and without spaces, but also due to the bongo sample used alone which gives a very amateur impression. Other than this, the tune does a fairly good impression, the artist knows how to handle the bass and synth string tracks like he does, which lends a good sound to the song.

Artist claims for this to be harder, and not just happy. Ok it's hard, but that's it. In order to get such a fast drumbeat, he seems to have left out the music. This song contains a drum beat and a piano hammering on three different notes. Four minutes of that. No... I're heard better things from CrimeDay. Chill out, think a bit about the songs and put down a bit of more work to them, and it'll end up good.

This artist's first PC track... he says wait for better tunes, well I am. This tune certainly haves potential, but nothing really happens. The artist's newers songs could be really interesting though. As the entire song sounds just like a background track, this mod might fit as music for a game, or similar, but it doesn't make it all the way. Needs way more work, more length, and defenitley more music. It is clear that the artist has skill however.

I can't for my life see why this should be called Unity Mix... This is as far from unity as it gets. It sounds like someone getting tired and trying to put all of his ideas for songs into one song. It doesn't work... at times the melody track and the background track are in different keys, and it sounds all horrible. According to the comments, there should be 4 songs mixed in this one. It sounds more like 40. So... here you go, six minutes of noisy pain. If you have a slow modem, this is defenitely not worth the download time.

This song has something you don't see too often in mods: Vocals that sound good and fit in. Perfectly. Like a glove. The song is varied enough to make it fun listening to, and it's still pretty long (just over 4 minutes). Get this one. It's worth it. Listen to this song real closely a few times and you'll hear alot of small details, emerging from the background... Volume shifts, and those synth string samples used the way they are give the tune a real depth and atmosphere. Ending comes a bit abruptly, but that doesn't lower the the impression very much.

This is certainly a good one. The artist has really managed to put feeling into the song, especially the bass track. The lead track is strong, and the surounding sounds give the song a great atmosphere. This one's really worth the download time, and it's stuck in my head already. The artist's work on this song really payed off, the mix and selection of samples are good, giving the song a real synth feeling. It isn't that complex, and it doesn't use huge amounts of channels, but the things it has are really well controlled. The only bad thing as I see it is that the bass sample blur a bit when it's played as closely as it is on different channels. The feeling of the song makes up for that many times over.

Yeah, I've heard better. Lots better. Don't really know what to write here, this mod isn't very much music to start with. It contains a simple drum track, some background slings and lots of effects, and a very annoying looping melody on top of that. Very noisy, not noisy samples, but a noisy song. Loops fine, so you wont hear when it ends.. it'll just go on until you can't take it anymore. Going from one section of the song to another is with no finesse whatsoever, which makes it sound like the song skipped ahead a bit. Good looping, nothing wrong with the samples, but I actually want to hear some music in a mod too.... keep on trying.

"You aint seen nothing yet!" I hope so. Cause if this artist has more to give... his song might actually turn out really good. Basicly, this concept if good, the idea is fine, and the will is there. Doesn't quite make it all the way though, but it's still worth listening too, even if it's not a song I'd keep playing each day. Now here's where the negative stuff starts showing up: This song could defenitely need much more work. Both the music and the samples used could really need some variation. Also someone should alert this artist that it's possible to use notes of different length, some parts of the song sound like they've only been added because he wanted to have one new note on each line. The leed BLEEP instrument starts getting annoying at the end of the song, hearing the same patterns over and over. Variation, and this song could be great.

Actually, I don't know how much this mod has to do with music at all... This song is a remix of Use The Force Luke (utfl.xm), and it has pretty much ruined the song. In the review of Use The Force Luke, I wrote about the good selection and mix of samples... now I hardly hear those samples anymore. The feeling in the song is gone... and now all I here are thumping drums that want to give me a headache. It has lost all that made UTFL so special.

This could really only be seen as your all-time standard techno song, heavy pounding bass, lots of drums... But it has something special to it. There is some kind of a feeling in it, that I think is rather rare among techno songs like this one. The song in itself is not very complex, but there is something in the selection of samples, the way that they are mixed together that makes it special. It is not very complex, not very skillful or lots of work I'd say... but it's good.

For being the first song this artist's released, this is great. There's a good atmosphere in the song, and even if some tones sound a bit odd at times, the feeling of the song is very good. Some of the samples could have used some tuning, and the drums sound a bit hard against the background of the song, but, compared to most "first releases", this is really good.
