This is a part of a vast music project (quest.xm to quest7.xm). This songs design a whole fantasy story, and this epic project is worth to be noted by itself. This good tune is rather original; a complex harp background riff carries the whole song, but the song is far from being repetetive. Harmonic and melodic structures are essential, but really effective. I would like to expect more songs of this intensity from this author. This time, technical section is very good. Samples are exquisite, expecially the choir and the background nature sound. This tune has the best Thunder I ever heard in a mod. Everything else is here: volume fades, stereo panning, note slides, anything you want to have in a professional mod. This tune would not be out of side in a professional new-age music compilation.

This is a part of a vast music project (quest.xm to quest7.xm). This songs design a whole fantasy story, and this epic project is worth to be noted by itself. This tune has a nice arabian sound, mixed with the personal touch of the author. Thus based on a simple idea, the tune developes well; the melody is based upon flute riff, supported by chours and violon; a nice and well cured rythmic section makes the tune more interesting. In the second half of the song, a shamisen like instrument enters the scene, making the song very esothic. Samples are good; nothing special but good. In this song, vargard makes a good use of portamento effect, giving the lead instruments a touch of life. Some use of stereo effects would have made this song really good.

This is a part of a vast music project (quest.xm to quest7.xm). This songs design a whole fantasy story, and this epic project is worth to be noted by itself. This songs adds to a classical "bagpipe" scottish melodic line some fantasy element. There is not much harmonic richness, and this turns out in a repetitive melody. I don't like very much che choice of using a synth sound instead of a real bagpipe sample (there are lots good around), but any way, that synth sample is good enough to do the job.

This is a part of a vast music project (quest.xm to quest7.xm). This songs design a whole fantasy story, and this epic project is worth to be noted by itself. The song reminds me of a certain kind of music that I often refer as "epical", very good for soundtracks. It starts with a chorus line, and it develops in a crescendo up to the end. Harmonic line is very linear, a little repetitive but still pleasing. An interesting rithmic section accompains the melody, and the overall result is good. The sound or the choir is remarcable. Generally, all the samples pretty good.

This is a part of a vast music project (quest.xm to quest7.xm). This songs design a whole fantasy story, and this epic project is worth to be noted by itself. The song has a peculiar arabian like feeling. It has a couple of theme idea, and develops from there. This makes the song, althoug good, repetitive. Samples are good, mixing is fine. There is a good use of ambient sounds, and a very good harp (that is usually hard to sample and sound well in a mod). Everything is in place, and all is tracked well. You won't hear a flaw.

This is a part of a vast music project (quest.xm to quest7.xm). This songs design a whole fantasy story, and this epic project is worth to be noted by itself. The song has 2 distinct sections; the first one stats slow, with a rythm recalling drums on ancient ships. In this part the songs, the melody sounds very celtic and builds up a nice crescendo up to the next phase. The second part (from about 3:00 to the end), the song gets a faster rythm. Any way, the simple armonic structure, makes the song a little repetitive; otherwise it would be very good. Samples are good, mixing is fine. Technically, there is nothing exceptional, but everything is in place, and all is tracked well. You won't hear a flaw.

This S3M starts promising, having a good church bell sample as ambiental sound. Then, everything drops. There is a minimal rithm and a little harmony in the background; with a little effort something better could be teared out of this. 8 bit samples. Even the bass drum and snares seems not very good.

This is a rather good song with a WIDE LYRICS! It is very nice, but it's short duration (3:30) is a minor drawback. Also, Musically, Cyborg JEff would have be good in making background and solo passages a little more richer. Anyway, if not perfect, a real good job. It is the kind of mod we would like to hear all the time. Very good original sampligs and the lyrics are mixed perfectly. Pannings and volumes are quite professionals; also, the IT instrument evelopes are good, and there is a good echoing control.

This is a fine piece of reggae, and also a good piece of techno!; song message is stating that the main loop is from Crismon's "Reggae Night", and it sounds good. Also it is not boring and has also a "good feeling". There is nothing very complex in the technical section. Samples are expicitally ripped from various anknowledged authors, and I don't hear any particular sound effect; thus, left-rigth panning and overall mixing is good. Nothing bad, it is only that the author did not displaied anything special.

The music has some good point, and seems to be "progressive" in it's strange chord progression and bass line. It's somewath chacofonic, but I think is a desired effect, and someone with more "sophisticated" tastes then me could find it interesting. But the melody is a little bit boring, and seldom changes over the song lenght. Technically the traker has done a good job. Instruments goes together well, they are well sampled, well mixed and sound right in the song. Thus, the song shows no particular technical tracking skill. The base is applied well.

It's a good guitar arpeggio, with a nice lead. Musically it has nothing bad, but some simple solutions in the main passages denotes that the author loves music, but has still some way to go before to achieve a memorable result. Very simple. Samples (expecially guitar) are good, but nothing more.

This nice techno songs is a tipical .mod piece of the origins (through it's coded with .it system, and it uses .it effects well). But it has got something fresh that makes this sort of "revival" nice to hear. It never gets boring, because has very frequents melody line shifts. Leads instruments change often and even the music theme (thus coherent) is very various. This song has a good coding sequence, but nothing very complex or articulated. Samples are good, but sometimes they are far too "simple". The synth bass, for example, is rather good but reminds me too much a 8bit 8khz mono sample. Anyway, the effect is good.

Musically, this song is very poor. It goes on all it's lenght with the same 6 piano notes; ad about 2:30 a drum comes in, and at about 3:20 a variation (only in the background) comes in. Definitely, good Mod music has accustomed us better than that. Technically, the song has some good points: a echoed voice near the end and an ocean sound at the beginning. Samples are good.

The sound of this song is definitely a good example of what today's music should be. The overall artistic value of this song is great. It's based on a guitar picking main theme, very well sequenced, some background armonic line instruments (low strings), and a simple rithm line. There is a flute thats counterpunts the guitar, and takes the main line in the middle part of the song. The minor chord progression is raffinate, and throug minor, is still happy feeling. After a short bridge it becomes major, and the break is like a sunshine strike in a sad forest. Great! The only bad note is about the ending, that could have been better implemented; it's not for the 3d chord 4rt to major ("flourishing") ending, that is often used in new age and contemporary music, but for the brisk stop to the song, that is in contrast with the mild passages of the rest of the melody. The song have been greatly rehandled till the TWO authors found it perfect. We can share their point of view: instruments are mixing well, with a excellent choiche of volume slides. Flutes and guitar passages are gracefully glissed and stretched. Very nice the intro sequence, with a guitar being accorded.

Thus a little boring, can be played with deelight, and maybe danced. The Rithm line is static, but some background sounds easy this effect. Sometimes the piano (which is the main armonic instrument) plays well, but sometimes it seems a little silly and not very precise: you can guess some shortage of idea here and there. Anyway, the song is somehow able to exit from this black holes with a good overall structure and a good armonic progression. Few samples, but well recorded and well mixed. There are little or no effects, and the sounds becomes boring after a while. There isn't any mod programming and you can easy guess. Anyway, the song goes out well even without them.

The armonic intro is good, and the chord progression goes on well. Rithm is simple but effective. The piano (acting half as an armonic base and half as a melodic voice), has a good sound; but a little horror vacui made the author to put too many notes where some pauses could stand well. There are some good ideas behind that song; a good piece could be worked out, with a little effort, but in this actual version, it lack something. Samples are good (even if they are ripped), and the one single beat sample sounds good with the others; maybe it's a litte too sub-sampled. Drums and claps are poor, and this is not good in a trance mod.
