Another song by Cactus... this one is fairly interresting, however it lacks the goodness of Cactus' other songs... Still a good listen, however, so I recommend this if you like this music, but it may be liked, or disliked... I dunno... I just didn't like the drum line at the beggining, they're off beat, and sounds really wierd... Also, at certain points in the song, the melody seems untuned to the rest of the peice, and is rather disconcerting... This is what brought down the mark so much...

Proboscis made a good song here... He writes that he was influenced heavily in the making of this song, and it shows. It honestly sounds like a Juno Reactor Song, which is a good thing. I liked the 'melody', which goes well with the beat. The beat in itself is fairly interresting to listen, and the Bongo beat at the end is also done very well. Overall, a good listen, but can get annoying after a while. Good as BG music. The only rant I have about this song, is the crap-ass ending. It's some kind of high pitched squeel, and it's annoying. Well, in terms of effects, not very many were used... Not envelopes, or anything like that, however, the song is still good, hence the rating. Get this if you like this type of music.

I dunno what this song is about... 'cept maybe when your stonned, cause it will make you go into some type of stonned state if you listen to this too long... Very repetitive, which is what keeps this song's mark down. Good to listen to if you plan on climbing to the stars... =) No real effects here, which would have benefitted the song greatly, only volume... So, it's kinda bland in that respect.

Song's good, 'ceptin it sounds a little cheap... The Vocal samples are funny, but I'm not one for Drums'n'Bass. I guess it's got a good beat, and some pretty funky breaks in it, no real musical value, but that's not really an issue here, is it? =) Over all, pretty good, but a little to amateur sounding to be really professional. Nothing really interresting here... Like I said, the vocal samples are good, and are discernable... a bit... seems there in a different language... Sounds like something Asian... not sure tho. =)

Ahhh Good 'ole Trance... This song is actually a remix of a song called "Stay" by Sash!. What's to say, It's Techno with Trance elements (Read: Good Beat, with the song concentrating more on the drums then the melody). I enjoyed this one thoroughly. I think the beggining is really cool, cause when I was first listening to it, I had no idea what kind of song it would be... However, the ending, IMHO really is lame... just the instruments fading out... Ugh... But not that much of a biggie. This guy knows what he's doing. Though, not many effects are used throughout the song, the ones that are used, are used well. I especially liked the idea of letting instruments play and simply flicking the volume on and off. Other basic things like Sample Offset are implemented as well, alongside with Volume. overall: good job!

This guy worked a lot on the song, but there is one problem with it: It's too slow. This would be a lot better as BG music in a movie or something. You can't listen to it... also, the music suffers from instrument problems: they cut each other off, resulting in a really mechanical sounding piece. The tune is good, though, cause it's very emotional. I can imagine this guy leaving his planet forever, cause of what-not. It's good. Impulse Tracker Format (.it) would have been better here, because XM (Fast Tracker) doesn't support overlapping samples in the same track. This results in strange instrument cut-offs that screw around with the song... But in all due fareness, this is a technical problem, not Aragorn's. Also, Aragorn's choice of samples is good, since they complement the song well. Unfortunatly, there was a lot of wasted space here, with 15 unused instruments, 2 unused samples, and 11 samples with junk after the loop end-point. That's what really brought this song down, but still a good listen.

This song is good, and I usually don't give high ratings. But to put it simply, this song is very, very relaxing, and is good when your working or something of the sort. I left this song looping on ModPlug Player for 3 hours! Definatly a worthy download. Um... other than the !116! Unused Instruments and the !25! unused samples, nothing much... Oh yeah, one of the samples had unused data after the loop endpoint, but not a biggie there. Mostly, it's just sloppiness, but unless you fire up an editor, your not gonna notice, and since the unused instruments/samples are all empty anyway, the file size isn't effected at all. So nothing really wrong here.

This is a trance song, and, naturally, it's very repetetive... however, this song is TOO repetetive. There are hardly any variations in the basic paterns, and the song is long, at 6:22 total running time, it fits for a trance song, but it's the repetetiveness and plain overall patterns that bring this song down. Author should have used the 'offset' effect or 'portamento' effects in this. (more on this in the tech section). The drums are good (fitting the genre perfectly) though it's not that difficult to find techno samples anyhow... I also liked the way the song is split into section, each with it's own set of instruments... except there is the 'melody' which is played on a TR303 instrument that loops throughout the entire 6 minutes and 22 seconds of the song (stopping only for a second or two, only to start up again). This is too much. I couldn't stand that part. The rest was good, overall, not that bad. Ok, unfortunatly, this guy is a novice when it comes to tracking, and it shows. Absolutly no effects were used (except the panbrello, which the author simply copied and pasted everywhere). Besides the volume settings and the panbrello mentioned, no effects were used. That contributes a lot to the plainess of the song. Also, either out of ignorance (or stupidity) the author decided to have two samples exactly the same, except one was reversed, when all he had to do was put in a simple effect (Sound Control: Play Backwards)... Waste of space.

The melody is good, the bass line is good, and the chords as well. What leaves a lot to be desired, is the drums. They're quite boring, repetitive, with no deviation from the standard bass-snare-bass-snare beat. The melody is interresting, it changes up so as to keep it fresh souding. The bass line is good, but unfortunatly, it's simply blips, but that's ok. Ok, well, unfortunatly, this is where the song looses it's "goodness". Most of the samples are ok, but there are a few (sample 31) which are just plain bad. I sounds as though LizardKing processed them with some kind of wave editor (Cooledit, most likely) and applied a Distortion effect to it. Sample 31 sounds choked off, and fuzzy as a result. Some other transition (hit samples) are a little on the low quality side, but sound alright when mixed in with the rest of the song. The intro is good, it's terse and to the point, but the ending is kinda plain. It simply fades out... and a little too quickly for my taste... but again, that's ok. It's only 3 seconds of the song, right? Well, it just sounds as if the author planed to put more, and just gave up instead, and put in the cheap ending...
