Mmh, nice melodies, not the average boring shittee, though nothing extraordinary either. a bit mysterious/gloomy feeling in it, which always has a positive impact on me. the song was constructed reasonably well, and managed to keep my interest all the way. maybe a little more experience in the structures could be needed, i especially longed for some more dramatical changes in the soundscapes, now it just kinda flows from the start to the end. but, all in all, musically this one was a positive encounter. ..and then to the downfall. from the very 1st pattern i was a bit bothered by the fact that the author isn't yet quite skilled with the tracking techniques. it just sounds quite amateurishly tracked. ok, it doesn't fully ruin the tune, due to the musical aspect, but this tune could've been so much more in a hands of a more skilled tracker. maybe a remix could come handy here, fellas? for the author my advice is that try to make your tunes sound a bit more realistic. now anyone can immediately tell that this one is a work of a tracker, which i tend to think as a large minus.

ok, first of all, if you really don't like dark noisish experimental music, it's most likely waste of your time to download this one, though I do strongly encourage everyone to loosen their prejudice and try a walk on the wild side with this one. to put the soundscape in short, imagine a chaotic industrial scene with computer screens flashing, smoky surroundings and uneasy mood. there are clear melodic and structural straces here, so even the ones less familiar to this kind of music have something to grasp into. if you like artists/bands like aphex twin and squarepusher, this might just be the bite you've been waiting for. managed to hold my interest the whole 5 minutes, and actually the song is still playing in the background while writing this. perhaps there could have been something greater in this, so i'm holding that one point in reserve, since i doubt that this is among the very best mods i've ever heard. still, a one that'll stay in my harddrive, since it's well worth the lost space. nothing much i could hope for more. througly 8bit, but it didn't bother me too much, and the samples are used wisely and nothing managed to irritate my precious ears. it does sound tracked, which i always do think as a slight minus. still, clearly a work of a skilled tracker. a work well done.

as a composition, this one doesn't really manage to earn it's place in my great hall of respect. after a somewhat interesting start, it's quickly realized that the whole tune is just simple variations of the one and only main melody, without any real dynamics or structure, which really is not the way to go in this genre of music. it's descriptive that even though this is less than 2 minutes long, it manages to bore you out. the author, however, does have an eye for a catchy melody. sadly, only one idea carries only so far. some studies on basic song structures could prove worthvile. technically this manages to go into the vast mass of average skill. nothing that would ruin the tune, but nothing that would add to the score either. the samplebalance is good enough, but it's clearly heard that the author doesn't know how to use the full potential of the xm-format.
