Frontier - pip-frontier.it

Review Score: 8/10

Overall Impression (7/10)

Nice one! This tune is a must-have for any metal fan. Although there is a great deal of simplicity in listening to this piece I found it quite enjoyable. Also, the samples in this tune are absolutely amazing.

pie star - m0d_-_pie_star.ahx

Review Score: 8/10

Overall Impression (7/10)

This tune has an orchestra/dance/80s feel to it in general, even though it's obviously chip. But overall this piece is not bad at all. The piece seems to try to resemble a bit of storytelling (or maybe it's just me) with its carrying notes in the body of the piece; it really makes the mind wander. Very interesting tune overall.

Blue Corn - pip-bluecorn.it

Review Score: 7/10

Overall Impression (7/10)

This is a good tune, almost great. I can picture this piece being a more in line with the heavy rock genre about midway into the track, but overall, this piece was well put together. There wasn't a dull moment in the tune's two minutes and forty seconds of chiptune ear candy (even though it does get a little sour at first). A lot of things make this tune interesting, particularly its violent mood swings.

Castle Courtyard - castle_courtyard_improved_release.s3m

Review Score: 9/10

Overall Impression (8/10)

This tune is impressive in that despite its repetitive background melodies, there's enough to keep the listener interested throughout the course of this lengthy piece of work, more than enough to look forward to the artist's next installment.

* Temple of Light * - td_tol.xm

Review Score: 6/10

Overall Impression (5/10)

This tune is very quirky right from the start, but if you can make it past the flute the tune overall is fairly enjoyable. This celtic-style metal genre is what makes this tune (the artist) stand out in terms of plain uniqueness. Aside from the flute, the biggest problem with the tune aside from the flute is that the lead samples don't quite sound compatible with each other most of the time. Makes it hard on the ears during the more heavy parts of the tune. Overall, the song is fairly decent for a second module, very interesting; however perhaps a little more time spent working on those almost-conflicting samples that lead the melody would help a lot.

Ending Credits (Opeth Cove - pip-opeth-endingcredits.it

Review Score: 7/10

Overall Impression (7/10)

This was very moody and mellow tune, it's an Opeth cover after all. But the talent of the artist is in the technique of getting as close to the original as possible in module format which I must admit was pretty good here.

We Crash Below Precipices - pip-wcbp.it

Review Score: 8/10

Overall Impression (8/10)

This was a very exciting tune to listen to, but there seems to be something missing. This track could be so much more than what it is, but regardless it has a lot going for it, and I would like to hear a (much) extended version of this one. Very nice!
