I'm an amateur part-time tracker and I've made about 10 songs sofar. Apparently I make "Experimental / Medieval" music, which got me wondering if there are others out there in the scene ;)
23-9-2004:
Major update here :). First of all there is a new song on its way to the archive. I uploaded it today and its name is Experimente (filename devexp.it).
With that being said I tweaked a couple of these songs and composed a small compilation on mp3. If you happen to be interested in it feel free to e-mail me (see adress below).
1-2-2004:
Added a new song. I'll name it Song Four although the title says Piano :/
Here is an overview of all the songs, and brief reviews of them :).
Street Song - Rating: 2/10:
My first and worst song. Boring drumming, but reasonable composition.
Forest Ballad - Rating: 7/10:
My first attempt at a ballad. Originally made for a computer game it's a very "modest" song, unlike most of the dramatic power ballads you hear nowadays. I like the melodies and drumming very much, but the composition is too simple to give it a higher score.
God Has A Moustache - Rating: 6/10:
Title inspired on Nuada :p. A song with a general feel of freakiness. Drumming isn't too good, but it does have a very distinct atmosphere. Due to positive feedback from others I decided to up the score a little ;).
The Men Who Walk - Rating: 8/10:
If you intend to download only one song from me, download this one, as it's the best of them all :) The song is based on the acoustic guitar, combined with strings and the flute. Unlike the other songs, this song has some significant speed changes and a pretty high amount of variation. :)
8-Bit Wreckage Rating: 8/10:
This song originally started as a computer game soundtrack, but I decided to add some guitar elements to it. The result is a somewhat comical combination of computer sounds and heavy metal job. I also have an updated version on my comp which has less clashy guitar work.
Vengeance Of The Ill - Rating: 4/10:
Not a great song. I intially liked it a lot, but the melody lines are rather spiceless and the instruments blend together rather poorly. It is less original than God Has A Moustache, and only slightly better composed.
Song Four (a.k.a. Piano) - Rating: 7/10:
A pretty decent song, but the outro lack some melody and punch imho. Also, this version still has some panning issues (I never tested it on headphones until it was uploaded ;).
Experimente - Rating: 7.5/10
Called this way because I initially wanted to add some vocals shouting 'Experimente' somewhere in the song ;). Instead I decided to focus on the guitar work, which worked out pretty well. I think the chorus works very nice, but some of the tempo changes are still a little clumsy.
Other songs:
I made one other song called Room 101 in the past, but that one is so terrible and mononous (no half-notes) that it's just a chore to listen to. Hence, I won't annoy you guys with that one too, after uploading such crap as the Street Song ;). Also, I made some songs about Bee-man, which aren't that good either.
