artist Well, after a couple of mods where I showed some progress (Segue and Knights of the Round) I had to go back and write some mods where I proved that yes, I still sucked. This was one of them, and I followed it with Cellular Magnetic, which is even worse. Somewhere around this time I also wrote something called Barney Massacre, which I will never upload. It's as bad as it sounds.

This also was for some reason uploaded by somebody other than me to the Mod Archive. Heaven knows why. I'm curious who would have even gotten a copy, as there's only two places I might have uploaded it: R-Squared, and MSN. It was probably the latter, since R-Squared was an extremely local BBS and MSN had a much broader audience.

What's even more baffling to me is how many downloads this song has: 5000 as of me writing it. Seriously. I don't understand why it has so many downloads. Probably just due to how much time it's been on this archive (uploaded July of 2000 - definitely not by me, as I was living in Argentina with no computer or internet access at the time).

As to the song itself: when I started tracking, a few of my friends took interest in the hobby as well. My best friend went by the alias The Pro. He wrote a song which he called "Street Surfer" which I listened to. I thought the main theme had potential and transformed it into this, with more of a hard rock feel to it. After the intro, I transitioned into something that was a bit more of my style, and did a loop back to an earlier point in the song.

My original comments are particularly cringe-worthy. They are a notable example of me making a pop culture reference that probably nobody will get (it's to a Blackadder episode).

I probably wrote this song in June of 1996. It's probably my fourth-worst song, better only than Calm, Enigma, and Cellular Magnetic, in that order. - arcturus

Apocalyptic Reprisal

by Arcturus

The first theme you hear in
this song is based on a
theme in "Street Surfer"
by The Pro. I came up with
the theme at the end.

Special thanks to:
THE ONE AND ONLY HAMSTER
OF CAWDOR. Without this
scottish hamster, this song
would not have existed.
Also thanking MacBeth.

DID I SAY MACBETH???

Hot potato, off his drawers
pluck to make amends!
Aaah!

Heehee...
