Here is my second release of year 2006, and, once again, a new tune from a
computer game, this game being "Operation Stealth", released as
"James Bond: The Stealth Affair" in the US, during the early 90s.
This music is the "underwater theme" of the game, and is mainly inspired by
the PC/MS-DOS/AdLib version of the original game soundtrack, although it
has also been inspired by the Amiga version.

The original soundtrack has been composed by Jean Baudlot. Many thanks
to him for this wonderful piece of music.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS MUSIC & WHAT YOU NEED TO USE IT
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

This music has been originally created and saved with OpenMPT 1.17.02.43 in
ImpulseTracker (IT) compatible format. It uses 12 channels, 15 instruments
and 34 samples.

As it does not use any special features or effects offered by OpenMPT,
it should be readable and editable in most IT-compatible players and
trackers.

For Windows, I recommend OpenMPT (open-source version of the famous ModPlug
Tracker) to edit this music, and any recent ImpulseTracker file player to
listen to it. It has been successfully tested with OpenMPT 1.17.02.43,
ModPlug Player, Winamp 5.24 and XMPlay.

TOOLS & AUDIO GEAR USED
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

As stated above, this music has been entirely composed and produced with
OpenMPT 1.17.02.43.

ALL instruments used have been built and recorded by myself, with a Sound
Blaster Live! 5.1 soundcard, in "dry" 16-bit/48 KHz sound quality.

The samples come from my own SoundFont bank, which I've been working on
since 2003, to enhance the sounds of my MIDI files, and to give me new
material to compose music.

As a result, if you want to use one or more of those samples in your own
creations, you must contact me first, as described by the terms of use of
the license (see further down in this document).

Most of my SoundFont bank is based on other SoundFonts (particularly Magic
SoundFont 2.0, Unison, Fluid 3) but all its instruments have been enhanced
and modified to produce more original sounds. It uses many Roland sounds
but also has many Korg and Yamaha sounds.

This music, of course, only uses a partial set of all the sounds I've
developed for my own bank. You'll find below a detailed list of the samples
I've used.

DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE SOUNDS USED IN THIS MUSIC
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

- The "Synth Bass 2" is a combination of several synth bass patches which
can be found on several MIDI synths, including Yamaha MU and
Korg X5 series.

- The "Distortion Guitar" is my very own combination of several electric
guitar sounds and waves, mostly from SoundFont banks: |<amac Guitars,
Jackson's Distortion Guitar, DSCo Distortion Guitar, as well as the
distortion guitar from the Mega Sound Bank.

- The "Overdrive Guitar" uses the same samples than the distortion guitar,
but with different parameters, and also adds some overdriven guitar sounds:
one can be found in the awesome "Dear Old Friends" by Octopvs, available as
an ImpulseTracker module file, and the other one is from a Fender Strat
guitar SoundFont.

- The "D-50/MT-32 Custom Harp" is, as its name suggests, a rendering of
two synth harp sounds mixed together: one being the "Metal Harp" factory
patch from the Roland D-50 synthesizer, and the other one being a custom
harp patch I've sampled from my own Roland MT-32.

- The "Square Wave" is the same patch that the one you can find in the
default Creative/E-mu SoundFont banks (bundled with the Sound Blaster
line of sound cards), but with different parameters.

- The "Synth Brass" is a combination of the default Synth Brass patch found
in the default Creative/E-mu SoundFonts (using different settings as well),
mixed with Roland "Jungle Brass" patches.

- The percussions sounds also come from my own SoundFont bank, and can be
found on several famous synths, including Roland Sound Canvas and
Fairlight CMI. The snare sound has been enhanced with a power snare patch
you can find on the Korg X5 series; I've sampled this patch myself from my
own Korg X5DR.

Voici ma deuxième publication de l'année 2006, et, une fois encore, il
s'agit d'une nouvelle musique tirée d'un jeu vidéo, lequel est
"Operation Stealth", publié sous le titre "James Bond: The Stealth Affair"
aux Etats-Unis, au début des années 90. Cette musique est le thème utilisé
lors des séquences "sous-marines" du jeu, et est principalement inspirée de
la version PC/MS-DOS/AdLib de la bande son originale, tout en étant
également inspirée de la version Amiga.

La bande son d'origine a été composée par Jean Baudlot. Un grand merci à
lui pour ces superbes morceaux de musique.

INFORMATIONS TECHNIQUES SUR CETTE MUSIQUE ET COMMENT L'UTILISER
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cette musique a été créée et enregistrée à l'origine avec OpenMPT
1.17.02.43 en format compatible ImpulseTracker (IT). Elle utilise 12
canaux, 15 instruments et 34 sons.

Etant donné qu'elle n'utilise ni fonctionnalités ni effets spéciaux propres
à OpenMPT, elle devrait être lisible et éditable avec la plupart des
lecteurs et des trackers audio compatibles ImpulseTracker.

Pour Windows, je recommande OpenMPT (la version open-source du célèbre
ModPlug Tracker) pour modifier cette musique, et un lecteur audio récent
compatible ImpulseTracker pour l'écouter. Elle a été testée sans aucun
problème avec les lecteurs audio suivants : OpenMPT 1.17.02.43,
ModPlug Player, Winamp 5.24 et XMPlay.

LOGICIELS & MATERIEL AUDIO UTILISES
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Comme indiqué plus haut, cette musique a été entièrement composée avec
OpenMPT 1.17.02.43.

TOUS les instruments utilisés ont été construits et enregistrés par mes
soins, à l'aide d'une carte son Sound Blaster Live! 5.1, en qualité 16 bits
à 48 KHz. Les sons ont été enregistrées "bruts", sans effets spéciaux.

Ils proviennent de ma propre banque de sons au format SoundFont, sur
laquelle je travaille depuis 2003, afin d'améliorer le rendu de mes
fichiers MIDI, et pour me donner de nouveaux sons à utiliser pour composer
de nouvelles musiques.

Par conséquent, si vous souhaitez utiliser un ou plusieurs de ces sons dans
vos propres créations, vous devez me contacter au préalable, conformément
aux conditions d'utilisation indiquées dans la licence (voir plus bas).

Une grande partie de ma banque de sons SoundFont est basée sur d'autres
SoundFonts (et plus particulièrement Magic SoundFont 2.0, Unison, Fluid 3),
mais tous ses instruments ont été modifiés et améliorés pour produire des
sons plus originaux. Elle utilise beaucoup de sons Roland mais incorpore
également pas mal de sons Korg et Yamaha.

Bien entendu, cette musique n'utilise qu'une partie des sons que j'ai
développés pour ma propre banque de sons. Vous trouverez ci-dessous une
liste détaillée des sons que j'ai utilisés.

INFORMATIONS DETAILLEES A PROPOS DES SONS UTILISES DANS CETTE MUSIQUE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

- "Synth Bass 2" est un mélange de plusieurs sons de basses synthétiques
que l'on peut retrouver sur différents synthés MIDI, dont les séries MU
de Yamaha et X5 de Korg.

- La "Distortion Guitar" a été créée par mes soins à partir de plusieurs
sons et échantillons de guitare électrique, principalement distribués sous
forme de banques de sons SoundFont : |<amac Guitars, Jackson's Distortion
Guitar, DSCo Distortion Guitar, ainsi que la guitare électrique que l'on
peut trouver dans Mega Sound Bank.

- "Overdrive Guitar" utilise les mêmes samples que la guitare précédente,
mais avec différents paramètres, et y ajoute quelques sons de guitare
saturée : l'un peut être trouvé dans l'excellent "Dear Old Friends" de
Octopvs, disponible en format ImpulseTracker, et l'autre provient d'une
SoundFont de guitare Fender Strat.

- "D-50/MT-32 Custom Harp" est, comme son nom peut le suggérer, une
combinaison de deux sons de harpe synthétique : le premier étant le patch
d'usine "Metal Harp" du synthétiseur Roland D-50, et l'autre étant un son
de harpe que j'ai enregistré depuis mon propre Roland MT-32.

- Le "Square Wave" est identique à celui que vous pouvez trouver dans les
banques de son SoundFont de Creative/E-mu (celles qui sont fournies avec
la gamme de cartes son Sound Blaster), mais utilise des paramètres
différents.

- "Synth Brass" est un mélange issu du patch Synth Brass que l'on peut
trouver dans les banques de sons par défaut de Creative/E-mu (utilisant
également des paramètres personnalisés), ainsi que de sons
Roland "Jungle Brass".

- Les sons de percussion proviennent également de ma propre banque de
sons SoundFont, et sont issus de plusieurs synthétiseurs célèbres, dont
les Roland Sound Canvas et les Fairlight CMI. Le son de caisse claire a
été mixé avec un patch de type "Power Snare" que vous pouvez trouver sur
les synthétiseurs de la série X5 de Korg ; je l'ai enregistré directement
depuis mon propre Korg X5DR.
