    --<Baroquen Heart>--
          (groan)

        by Shih Tzu

 This is another rather old
 module that I dragged out
 and finished. It's not
 actually baroque; I'd call
 it more rococo or
 classical, and of course
 there are contemporary
 influences, but I couldn't
 resist that title. ^_^

I've still got a lot to
 learn about theory, and
 I'm sure my composition
 teacher could find a
 bazillion things wrong
with it, but I like it all
 right as it is.

This song is a sonata. If
 you're not sure what to
 listen for, it has an
 exposition which consists
 of the main theme, a
 transition, and a second
theme in the key a fifth
 above the first theme.
 The exposition repeats,
 there's a development
 section in which the two
 themes are meshed and
 played around with, and
 finally there's a
 recapitulation, where the
 first theme is repeated,
 the transition is changed,
 and the second theme is
in the same key as the
first. I've also put in a
 coda that has elements of
 both themes. The song
 starts fugally, but it's
 not an actual fugue. Oh
 well. Maybe some other
 time.

 I realize the first sample
 has a rotten loop, but
 it's sooo *versatile!*
 I'll never use it again,
 I promise. :)

 Thanks to Necros for that
 sample, by the way. I
 don't know where the other
 sample's from.
