Another of my early mods, this is quite obviously based on a riff from the Sisters of Mercy song of the same name.

I was originally intending to do the whole song, but without vocals (and no, I didn't even have a microphone at the time) it was getting very repetitive. So, I settled for just doing some variations and kept it brief.

Wow, my first ever mod. I'm somewhat flattered to see someone saw fit to preserve it as I certainly didn't at the time!

The original version was made with TCB tracker, but I later imported it to Protracker with some better instrument samples.

Looking back, I still like that baseline even if it does get a bit repetitive; there's a bit of a galloping feel to it. It probably needs a bit more than just noodling and that boring drum pattern though.

Strictly speaking, it's an Atari ST mod. At least that's the machine I wrote it on. It's not got anything to do with the Amiga mod of the same name that I was totally unaware of at the time though, other than the file format

Yeah, the samples are a bit cack. Still, most of the stuff from the 8-bit 8 kHz era is. There should be a version with proper 16-bit instruments knocking about though, so I might see if I can find that and post it up sometime.

As for the tune, I don't think it's that bad, especially as it was only the third mod I'd ever written; just a basic I IV V chord progression and a bit of noodling. Ah well, baby steps...
