Overall Impression (8/10)

Very, very catchy. An uptempo 80's style synth-pop sound with a nice melody, and simple, but well-programmed drums. As explained in detail below, there is a lot more to this module on the technical side than first meets the eye.

Technique, Arrangement, Composition (10/10)

I first listened to this on Xmplay and thought, OK, that sounds really nice. Then I turned on the visualization in Xmplay and saw only a few samples in action, and noticed the small file size. I was curious about how the chorus-reverb sounds were accomplished, and then opened it in MPT. There are no instruments used, only samples. Excellent use of the vibrato\sweep functions to create a nice chorused sound combined with layering of samples for a little echo. Each note is carefully faded out where appropriate. A lot of complexity is involved in this simple sounding song. A good model for those (like me) trying to learn more about how to make the most of tracking software.

Development (8/10)

Simple sounding, but well-structured and put together. Much of the best music sounds easy the first time you listen to it. The melody is extremely catchy and you want to hear it again. Drum patterns do (in my mind) what drums are really meant to do -- support the music. There is a good beat that doesn't get in the way and basic, but effective breaks.

Creativity (7/10)

I guess I would say that this tune does not appear to offer a whole lot in the way of purely musical creativity, but more than makes up for it on the the technical side. The composer accomplishes a consistent, fun sound.

Enjoyment (9/10)

Easily replayable. You could loop this one for a while without getting irritated. It is also one that I have replayed a lot for purposes of looking at what was being done -- volume and pitch slide usage, settings for the samples, sample layering, etc.
