This piece falls into Reggae, but it does so kicking and screaming. Jansson takes a piece that accidentally happened to end up in the genre, and twists it around into something that doesn't sound like any other Reggae I've ever heard. Unfortunately, that makes it sound like "Amateur Techno artist trying to write Reggae," quite blatantly. Through all of this, it just gives off a tangible feeling that it's somehow very clumsy, and just a bit too heavy for its own good. This may be from the fact that the bass beat seems to lag just a bit behind the rest of the piece. But overall, the song is fairly straight-forward, and has enough of a melody to support it, along with enough variation to keep it moving. The technique in this piece was impeccable. It's one of the mods that actually ends up being more interesting to watch than to hear... Effects were used masterfully to decay and distort samples, panning was set to its best potential, and the samples all managed to capture a Reggae tune without escaping a Techno background, somehow. Trackers should look this mod up and take tips from Jansson on how to effect your decays... But don't ever tell your audience you were hung over when you finished a song.
