I was really into Star Control II when I made this. The idea behind it: if the AndroSynth was a race the Captain could meet, what would their theme sound like?
The first part is the captain being hailed, unexpectedly. It's ominous and foreboding because the screen would be pitch black, hiding the caller's appearance. Once the AndroSynth reveal themselves, that's when the record scratch plays and the theme before more uplifting. I decided that part should be "retro future-ish," as the AndroSynth, themselves, look like B-movie actors from 1950s sci-fi movies.
