Overall Impression (7/10)

My opinion here is going to be built on my impression of this song as a game soundtrack as well as a music piece on its own. My first overall impression of the track wasn't as good as it is now. As an in-game soundtrack (it was used in a boss battle, game - Alien Outbreak) You can't get to appreciate how it sounds not only because you are focus on the game, but also because the acid-y synths are always going to be outlouded by the game SFX (At least that's how it felt for me). Listening to the track outside of the game gave me a whole different impression of it and in a good way. While it sets a good mood, I think it lacks a little bit of oomph to really kick it off.

Technique, Arrangement, Composition (9/10)

Whenever I hear a 303 in a tracker, I always appreciate it, because it's always hard to make it work in a tracker on a technical level. I am not quite fond of how the kick is only playing on the right stereo channel. Yes, if you center it you won't be able to hear it, but you could always reserve 2 channels for your kick if it's too quiet. Oh well.

Development (7/10)

My only compaint here is the sample quality - It could've been better, like the drums and the strings, they kind of stick out like a sore thumb to me. The mixing is splendid. Fast paced and serious. Really makes you feel like it's an "Intercept".

Creativity (10/10)

I like how Shiru Otaku mixes acid-y synths and brassy like sounds and switches them in the lead melody. Not to mention how the acid lead has a varying sound. It's just perfect.

Enjoyment (7/10)

It could have worked better if it wasn't too short. 1:16 is not that much for this kind of fast-paced song if you ask me. When it loops you'd get really disappointed, thinking "Really? That's it? Aww.." As an in-game track though, I think it's fine. It's almost seemless how the track loops while you're playing.

Additional Comment

All in all, The rating of this track will vary depending on how you'll look at it (how do you even look at music?). I highly appreciate the way this tune was composed and arranged even if it's pretty short.
