A pretty good ambient song. It gets a bit boring and the drums are way too quiet but the soft melody at 2:28 really makes you want to listen more. Too bad there isn't much else to offer except electric guitar melodies near the end. I think the song is overpowered by the strings and is a little too long.

I have been a big fan of Azo for quite some time, and I am honored to get to review this song. This was clearly a prequel to One Scotch Long, the 35-minute-long epic also by Azo. This is a drifting and bittersweet fantastical song that is the proper length (5:37 when read in Mod-Plug Player) for its content. A fast chime rhythm and mythical vocals underlie the entire song, and the slow main rhythm exemplifies sadness in a journey... to Lothloria. Azo's songs are always very large, because he only uses 16-bit samples- and they sound great. This reads as a 32-channel IT in MPP, but over 50 channels are used at some points. Just now, as I'm spreading the idea of MODs to a friend of mine online, something reoccurred to me: get MODs! MP3s are gay! And they're huge! Get MODs, and try this one out!

                           --Return To Lothloria--
                                   by: Azo

Some months ago, there was a compo on the Internet.  It was the first
ever #dalnet ModArchive Compo, and 19 trackers stepped up to the challenge
with their best works.  One of those works was a beautiful track titled
"Lothlorian Romance" by hang0wer.  Not only did it get my attention, but I
haven't ben able to get the harmonics out of my head since then.
When I began writing this track, I knew that I wanted something simple
and powerful.  I had a few instruments picked out, and a couple of catchy
phrases.  The chord progression sounded quite strange to me, but it had a
natural flow to it, much like the original "Lothlorian Romance."  As the
track began to take form, I found myself repeating countermelodies from
hang0wer's track, with minor variations.
Unfortunately, I lost interest in this track for a short time, and
almost deleted it, as I felt it was going nowhere.  It took a 1-hour compo
to stir the chord progression up again, and this track was finished almost
immediately after.
I'm extremely pleased with this piece in particular, as it truly has
captured the inner emotions that I was so desperatly trying to record.  I
enjoyed writing this track, more than words can express.  I'll just let
the music do the talking.
One final note...hang0wer, thanks for the inspiration for this track.
Without your "Lothlorian Romance," this would never have been possible.
Also, thanks to Activator for a couple of the crucial samples.  And one
last greet goes out to LittleElk...thanks for your encouragement.  I'm
honored to call you a friend.
