Unfortunately I have to admit that my opinion will be greatly biased by the awesome Deluxe Galaga in which I heard this music for the first time. I loved the game and, believe me or not, I fell in love with this tune.
It was a tough love at first, but the older I got the more this song grew on me and I learned to respect it as a masterpiece of, what I believe it is, Ambience music. Very much like Turrican 3 or Crystal Dragon tunes, I can put it on looping and listen to it for an hour or two without even getting the "repetitiveness" feeling.
That's all that I can say about it - I think this tune speaks for itself and I strongly encourage you to listen to it!
