This track starts off with some pretty boring, over-used chords that everyone will recognise from one place or another, so i figure I'm in for another mediocre listening session, but this track surprised me, its actually quite good. The track goes for 3:43 and throughout this time, uses three different leads, and a number of melody variations to keep things interesting. Overall, this works quite well. I don't particularly like the sax lead, it sounds really fake, but hey, this is a .MOD I'll have to forgive it. The other samples are quite good for .MOD standard, the piano perhaps a little abrupt, but still works well. For percussion, the track uses a simple drumloop, it fits well with the song, however is used in a very boring, uninspiring way (ie: just looped) I realise, as this is a four channel production that drum loops are very handy for adding depth when precious channels are needed for music, but I still think that the artist could have been more creative with it eg: looping and cutting it off at particular points etc. The melodies are pretty good in this track, there is only one part I don't like and that is with the sax lead (one note just sounds WAY off). Certainly a nice tune though. This track demonstrates a fair bit of skill. For a four track module, it certainly has a good feeling of depth, this is probably aided by the use of the breakbeat. The tune is well tracked, and apart from some minor areas, flows together quite smoothly. I found one note that sounded out of tune, whether it was the fault of the tracker or the sample itself, I don't know, but it was only a minor problem, as the rest of the track was of a quality standard. For lovers of Old Mods, I reccomend this, as its catchy, melodic, quite well tracked and although not outstanding, certainly keeps the listeners attention for its duration.
