This song could be so good. It has a good beat, the sound effects and vocals fit in nicely without being overused, and it's almost danceable. However, a few problems make it very difficult to groove here... The strings change chords on an extremely erratic beat pattern, which threw me off right away. Then, as the bass pulse comes in, it changes chords on another erratic beat pattern, one that has absolutely nothing to do with the strings' chord changes. Other than that, it sounds good, even if I'm left with vague reminiscences of "The Final Countdown" after listening for a while to the string sweeps and sound effects. First things first: Yes, there is such a thing as too much kickdrum. This song proves it by doubling up the kick on full left and right, making it almost painful to listen to with headphones. That's pretty much the only severe technical problem, but it stands out because the kickdrum plays on Every Single Beat Of The Entire Song. I also noticed the bass pulse tended to fry out a little in its lower reaches. Outside of these, the technics flowed smoothly, which is more than I could say for the song itself. If you're looking for something that could suffice for a quick House fix, this might work, but it won't find its way onto your favorites list.
