Don't get me wrong, I like death metal, I really do... But this song just comes across as a bad parody of death metal more than anything else. The music is actually halfway decent, and the guitar could pass for early Slayer if it were live. And then there's the vocals... He tries so hard to capture the gravelly growl that other death metal bands have made famous, but he forgets: They're screaming while they do it. They sound good. He's just talking while he does it. He sounds like Grover. Two guitars, one drumset, and one set of lousy vocals simply can't make this into a good song. The technical drawbacks simply drag this down too far for redemption. This piece really stands out technically... That's not good, because it stands out as a bad example. The samples are singularly bad... The guitar was sampled from the wrong octave, so as it's used in the song, it sounds like a breathy guitar synth. The vocals keep going in and out of sync with the music, and they're set far too loud to the rest of the piece. It might be worth some extra points for trying to fit vocals to the song... But it simply doesn't work. Anyone who appreciates good death metal will just be offended by this one.
