The quintessential Leviathan song, and one of the songs he is best known for. Perfect flow and transitions, excellent percussion, and great use of the guitar samples. While the lead takes center stage, the backing guitar is what really makes the song. Never feels repetitive.

Leviathan, to me, is the king of soft rock. Don't be scared away by that label, because his songs are pure masterpieces. This piece seems to have more mainstream rock influences, but it is definately soft rock at the heart. I can't really complain about this song, except to say that is sounds like more of a regular track on a CD rather than a hit single like some of his other songs. If you've liked Leviathan's work in the past, then grab this song. If you haven't heard Leviathan before, then you might want to download one of his other songs in order to hear him at his best. I rarely give out the professional tech rating, because I always feel that at least some changes are in order with any piece. However, Leviathan has his tracking style down to a science, and it shows. All of his pieces are professional sounding, and extend to the limits of modules. The only thing better would be to have live artists record his songs in a recording studio. One complaint - the lead guitar sample sounds a bit synthetic. However, if you listen carefully, vibrato, distortion, and small flanges can be heard. Some very nice effort was put into this piece.

   Leviathan - Ren/Kosmic

      A Kosmic Release

    completed on 1/11/96

  A few samples by Zapper,
Necros, and Duellist, but
most are original. Guitar
samples made with a
Washburn hollow-body and
various effects pedals.
Drum samples from various
sample CDs and a K2000.

  "Emerald Visions" is my
first release of 1996, and
it seems I've now started a
tradition of outdoing all
my past work and trying to
start over with each new
year. I must send a warning
to those who only enjoy my
lighter tunes, as I plan to
explore a few new styles
this year and hopefully put
out some excellent work. My
last few releases were
progressing in a bit of a
bland direction, but I
think I really tapped into
something with this track.

  The majority of the song
was tracked in about three
days, with support and
guidance from Siren, who
was very helpful as I tried
to piece things together.
I'd really like to hear
what you think of this
work, as I spent a great
deal of time working on it.
I think for once I got some
memorable melodies written,
but that's for you to

  Special thanks to Lemm
for helping me out with the

  Enjoy the tune..
