THIS is something different is think, Phoenix uses dark layers, bright strings, dark bass, acid samples and wierd breakbeats. It´s a very dark and mysterius tune that a don´t really know what mood you should be in to listen to it. It sounds a bit influed of the soundtrack from the game "Motorhead". I like it. The samples blend very well together but the drums are a bit to high in volume and a bit repetative, you get anoyed of the high volume so that you dont hear the complete piece. But it´s just one breakbeat that are too high. The bass clashes in the beginning. The dark layer could have been arranged better. Put them in different channels when the tone changes and use notecut instead. Otherwise it will cause a tiny tiny bit of silence between the tone changes. The acid samples are very nice, without them the song wouldn´t have been anything special. The piano sample could have been better too. Use multisamples with different samples on different octaves.
