Hybrid song 2:20 (external.xm)

Had this on my PC like 24 years ago ... I always wondered about it, dug it up looking at a tar file from 20 years ago ... I used a binary file viewer to get enough clues to figure out what to search for here to find the author (it was called "song_.xm"). A mere 50KB... Mind blowing for something of this quality. So it's already quite good, but that Quazar fit this in 50KB goes to show how thoughtfully this was constructed.

I guess it deserves a 10, but the name is confusion. Funky Stars, Hybrid and the downloaded file named External.... Like....... I guess this would fit pretty good on a webpage with some good old stars flying in the background.

Anyway..... Beside the confusion on the name - it is one of those top ones up there.

Although I understand the Hybrid thing because it takes 2 different things and mix them as I understood, so some was debating if it was allowed to be called a Chiptune as it did that.... whatever....

It clearly is one of finest of Tracker tuns, although, Mostly tracker tunes are not really that much for me. Not much Biblical stuff on this scene clearly - but looking into if I might be able to do something with it, and I think I might be able to.

Anyway.... 10 out of 10. Number 3 in my playlist at the moment in my player at BT.JesusGod-Pope666.Info although that might change or the link as things progress. I have further killed some tunes, I found one melody for some pagan satanic goddess of the morning, or sunrise, which is one of those old popular ones.

this is a classic tracker tune, it deserves a 10/10 for that alone (and also for being really catchy too)

One of my favourites, always has been, always will be.

Lovely use of reverb, with nice clear samples considering the age of the tune. Upbeat and "urgent" but mellow at the same time!

Awesome. I love this style of chiptune. Excellent use of samples, catchy tune, nice bass line. It's hard to believe this is only about 50kb, when listening to the song, it sounds much more high quality. Wish it was longer, but I don't mind looping this.

Wow ! A very good song from 1996. What a baseline ! Very impressive sound. This is a must listen to all fans of this kind of music. Hybrid Song/Funky Stars would fit perfectly in a demo.... and maybe it has been in a demo or game, the sample text doesnt give much information. The melodies are so cool , this is from now on one of my absolute favorite chipsong. Technically good. The nice effects, vibratos and apreggio are all at the right places. This is one of those songs that you can't beleive they are only 10 channels and 50 kB big. Amazing ! The definition of a chipsong is always hard. But i still think this is a chipsong even if it uses some sampled instruments. Song looping after 2.20.
