Not too good, overall. Bad samples, bad key changes, and a weak lead throughout the track in general. The structure is very simple, a well-known four chord structure. The artist twists and turns with this, apparently looking for a nice change, and instead of going to the harmonic or dominant, opts for a key change, right in the middle of the tune. Well, it woke me up. The drum fills aren't bad. That's it. The pitch slides aren't done very well, and considering that they're the only tech work done, I would have tried to make them work better. Nothing else to speak of in this one.

This track started really well. A lottle long in the intro, perhaps, but well. The drums came in, and they were awesome. The bassline started, and it's a little simplistic, but it fits. There's some really nice bells early on in the track, and you know that this piece is going somewhere nice. Your head is bobbing, there's a sweet mix, kick ass sounds, and a nice feeling to the song in general. There's a cool choir-like synth sound that massages your senses, and you're feeling great. Yeah, what could possibly go wro...wait, where's the synth? At that point, the song becomes crap. Less than halfway through, the artist gives up an easy 8.0, or even higher, by adding some overpowering synth. It just gets worse after that. There's a whole slew of useless samples thrown wildly about, at extreme volumes. Then the beat changes, and really ruins the song. I would say get thisone for the intro, but quit at 2:00. Some of the samples aren't really in tune, bu they're not too bad. Overall, it's not a bad job of tracking. I think there could be a lot more done with this track in the technical arena that might even make it presentable.

This is a tie with the lowest rating I've ever given a piece. This is another ripped theme, with nothing more than a melody we've all heard before, and a cheap drumline to go with it. There was a bassline, though. If it had been even remotely good, I'd have given this track a 1.0. My dog once tracked this piece. It was awesome compered to this feeble attempt. By the way, it's not a polka, either. I don't have much to say. Number one, I don't reccomend downloading this track. Number two, the samples suck, and the drums are just a bit over preshcool music class standards.

Well, I started listening to the track. After a few seconds, I thought to myself, "The intro sucks." The bassline came in. I thought, "The bassline sucks." Some cheesy claps came in. I thought, "These claps suck." Then a voice spoke up and said, "IT'S OFFICIAL, YOU SUCK." Remind me to thank this guy for telling us about his music before it really gets started. Anyway, I kept listening. Hey, here's an idea! Play a thirty second repetition, then do it again, adding claps. After that, do it again, with claps, and adding a hihat. Then, do it yet again, with another hihat. Geez, this one's predictable. Boring, lifeless, and ultimately not good. Everything was all out of whack. Some stuff was way too loud, some was way to soft. There's wasn't a lot of room to att technical elements, because the artist might have done something different than the last track, and that would be bad, eh?

The first thing that struck me with this track is the simple, cheap chord progression. It's as predictable as all hell, making it all the more repetitive. Redeeming factors? You bet. The percussion is incredible, with no overbearance, and a good general mix. The transitions are really nicely done, but considering the easy progression, they couldn't have been difficult to master. The lead is cheesy, and nothing that you'll walk around humming for the next day or two, though. Overall, another lightning fast trance track, complete with kick ass voice samples, and a sweet ending. There was a lot of attention paid to detail in this track. The stereo is awesome, especially on a big system. I had to crank this one up in the living room to enjoy the full sounds, and constantly moving leads. The pitch slides are cool, though they could be a little louder.

OH MY GAWD!! I can't believe somebody actually let this one into the archive! This is "Heart and Soul" remixed to its worst. I mean, the guy actually missed notes! Maybe he was shooting for something original in that spot...either way, it sounds like crap. The drums are pathetic, bass-snare-bass-snare, on the beat. This has got to be the worst mod I've ever heard. The artist gets half a point for spending time tracking it. Short of that, it's a zero. Nothing. A piano sample that's too long, and some crappy drums. Zero technical points on this one.

This song is too repetitive. Noe that we've got that out of the way, on to the music. The claps, are too low pitched, and the hihat is too loud. There's a lot of new elements introduced throughout the song, but they are not really exciting. There's a definite lack of leads, and an equal lack of high sounds. Almost this entire track is in low registers. It's kind of dark and moody. Overall, not that great, but not horrible, either. Not much done, except for a few generic volume changes. This didn't look like a very difficult piece to track, and there's nothing done with any leads...because there are none!

This song is too repetitive. The beginning is good, but the listener soon learns that what you hear in the intro is all that you're going to hear throughout the song. The percussion is a little loud, too. The "acid sound" in the middle is really not welcome to the song, and honestly sounds like crap. There's not near enough lead in the track either. The samples are not too great. From the begginning there's pooping and hissing, and in the song's closure, you find that the string sample is looped something awful. The artist gets marks for the opening stanza, good modulation there, but it gets taken too far throughout the song.

A slow track, with a great melody, and nice phrasing. The instrument mix is superb, with nothing too loud. This carries the melody very well. One thing I really like about this track is that it sounds live. The echo used by the artist is well done. It does lack climax, and drags on near the end, though. The holds are good, almost creating a climactic point, but not long enough. The balance is nice in this one. It's pretty volume intensive, with a lot of possible dead spots, so I have to give the artist credit for the mix. The flute loop is a bit distracting, which is not at all good for this intense a song. Excellent tracking job concerning the echoes, though.

Again, with piano solos, there must be a wide dynamic berth. This piece lacks that, and ultimately fails in its delivert due to that. The phrasinc is well done, however, and the melody is intriguing. Maybe a little old, but intriguing, nonetheless. The thirds should be more pronounced in the latter portion of the song, and the octave melody needs to be dropped. The closing theme is excellent, following a really well written ritard. Overall, a good attempt at a classical mod. It's a difficult style to track in, due to the amount of dynamics necessary. The panning didn't work at all. It made it sound like the piano was being rolled across the floor while it was being played. Again, there was little dynamic control, but the artist gets points for attempting to add some dynamics into the piece. Honestly, the melody was nothing extraordinary, so it all comes down to the presentation, which didn't stack up.

This was one of those songs I couldn't bear to listen to more than twice. It's waaaaay too long, and repeats the same boring lead time and time again. It's hard to follow at first, but the melody eventually becomes etched into your eardrums. It only took a million or so times to get that. Nothing...absolutely nothing. A few really crappy volume slides...ugh. There's also a high piano sample that sucs...wait, scratch that. All of the samples suck.

Though this is a nicely written piece overall, there are some changes that don't seem to fit. The sudden change after the initial melody is a bit unexpected, and doesn't flow as well as intended, I believe. The double melody with guitar and flute if powerful, and brings the track to a nice climax, though it could have used a coutermelody somewhere in it. The bassline is simple, yet fits well into the piece. The percussion is awesome, fitting the style and mood well, and balanced to perfection. There is a ritard at the end that slows down a little too much, but yields a nice ending. Having played classical guitar for several years myself, I would say that this track fits well into the time period of it's intent, and carries some possibilites that the artist should explore in more depth. The guitar gets drowned out in a few spots, mostly doe to the strings, which should have a little less volume. The stereo control is, once again, well done. I must applaud Picman on another well tracked piece.

A nice Spanish piece, with a few inconsistancies. I'll start with those. The time period of which this music was heavily written was post-flamenco, and honestly kept this style in play heavily. I kept waiting to hear some double stringed flamenco guitar, with quad counts. Unfortunately, they didn't come up. What did come was some double time guitar, near the end. While that did sound great, and keep the piece in it's time period, the volume wasn't loud enough on it. The brass was a little overbearing, but well written. It should have come down in the end to let the guitar recapture the melody consistant to the period. I did like the track in general, and I feel that after listening to a couple of Picman's releases, he is one of the most well-rounded trackers I've heard to date. Overall, a great song from Picman again, deserving high marks for craftmanship and creativity. Though the dynamics left a lot to be desired, the track still carried well with nice tempo control and good balance. The samples are all of nice quality, and the syncopation, especially in the light percussion, is outstanding.

I don't know if I have enough room to say all of the things I have jotted down about this piece. It has got to be one of the best written tracks I've heard in a long while. The intro runs a little long, but gives way to a great melody. The progression is unbelieveble, top notch work in the climax department. The artist has outdone himself with countermelodies and implied melodies, combining them into a very powerful musical experience. At several points in the music, a phrase is played, then echoed by another instrument, blending the duels into the overall excitement of the track. The changes from one stanza to the next are expertly crafted, giving the tune a great flow, and never losing sight of the overall feeling. The ending is absolutely phenomenal, wrapping everything up quickly, but bringing expert closure to an unbelievably complex and beautiful piece of music. Overall, I couldn't place the song into any one time period or geographical style. It tends to border between Irish and Italian folk, bringing into play ideas made famous by the Germans and French as well. Unbelievebly written, this track is worth lisening to. The track recieves high technical markings for the sheer amount of instruments. Nothing is too loud, nothing is too soft. The lows are in place, balanced well, as are the highs, and the countermelodies are balanced perfectly. I can imagine the time this must have taken, just to get the dynamics right. The stereo enhancements keep the track in motion at all times, and give a rich tone that might otherwise not exist.

This sounds exactly like something you would hear on a carousel. The instrument mix is great; maybe a little heavy on the organ in some places. The progression of melody is well done, not allowing the piece to become repetitious. The major flaw in the track comes late, when the piano takes a backseat to the organ solo, and becomes far too loud. Also, there are some accidentals in this particular key signature that the artist should pay more attention to, as there are a few missed notes. Overall, a nice track of carousel music. Honestly, it's the first time I've ever heard this style tracked. Good arrangement, overall. The piano is a little heavy in places, as I mentioned earlier. One word: dynamics. Good work done with surround sound, coupled with panning.

The artist really biulds a suspenseful intro, and carries it well with some great unexpected changes. There's a strong buildup to a cool lead after a couple of minutes, but one is waiting patiently for a climax. This song sounds like it is going to break into a quick beat at any given moment, but that is not delivered, and leaves the piece anticlimactic in general. The choir throughout the piece is excellent, ultimately building the suspense to an all-time high. Though the light percussion is well placed, it tends to become a nuisance in the latter parts of the song, where the snare comes in. Overall, a very well thought out piece of music that lacks a climax. This is a well written piece, balancing the volume well. Nothing is overpowering at any point, except for the late percussion, which honestly shouldn't be placed at all. The entire mystery of the track is carried by the left to right panning, which is done beautifully. There are, I must say, a couple of samples that are pushed too high for the loop to withstand, making the listened cringe.

The intro and ending are both very good, adding a mysterious feel to the song. It does not carry through, for the most part. The song picks up into a progression that is a little too fast, and utilizes a little too much of the piano. The chord progressions are nothing outstanding, with only three chords as far as I can hear. The balance isn't right, the samples are crap, and they hold out way too long. Technically speaking, this one's a nightmare. The artist does get credit for this being his first XM mod.

Though it borders 20th century sounds, there are some very classical elements to this song. It is well written, and has some great changes. The key signature is constantly changing, as is the time signature. It's a pretty song, spanning a wide range of emotions. The rondo section is awesome, sounding a lot like early Rachmaninoff works. The brief change to 3/4 time is unwarrented, and tends to add confusion to the song, however. One other thing. There's only a piano in this track, making it a piano solo, rather than a concerto. Do not be fooled by the title. Overall, a very creative work, worth a listen, if you''re a fan of classical music. The artist mentions it himself, there could be more dynamics. With a song this passionate, they are almost a necessary addition. The song is tracked well, considering the amount of changes.

There's a voice throughout the track, saying something I can't understand, but I take to be an account of Niel Armstrong's walk on the moon. Overall, it's a pretty piece, but leave a lot to be desired. The sparce echo is well played, but there isn't much else to be concerned with in this one. Thouth the chord progression is a little plain, the melody is nice. It is repetitious to an extent, with no bridge. For this style of ballad, it would have fit very well. There's some good drum fills, and a nice climax to this song overall. The echo near the end is really bad, and needs to be fixed. Overall, this is quite pretty, and enjoyable to listen to. It's a little on the long side though, without many changes. Almost the whole song is panned constantly. The aetist did a good job with this panning, using it to his advantage. The samples were all clean, though the piano sound was a little weak. Dynamics played a big part of this as well. Nothing was too loud, which is rare in tracked ballads.

The lead in the beginning is a little hard on the ear, being so high-pitched. There's way too much volume in that lead as well. Once the high pitched lead goes out, the track becomes easier to listen to, though the claps get annoying after the millionth time or so. The melody is good, but the lack of syncopation makes the song pretty plain, overall. Good job tracking this one, with nice volume control, for the most part. Early in the song, the voice samples are good, with a lot of dynamics. However, they become a little repetitive later on, and almost a burden to the song. The simple chord progression is good, allowing the listener to concentrate more on the beat, and less on the music. It does tend to change suddenly, with little warning. Overall, this is not a bad track, but it does get a little repetitive. The later portions of this extremely long track are the best, but getting to them is difficult, considering the repetition. There's not much work in panning, which is not something I would expect to see from Phantom. For the most part, there's a lack of dynamics as well. There's popping and cracking on some of the voice samples that kills the otherwise good opening.

This is a nice, mysterious song. It flows better than a lot of Phantom's other music, with no sudden changes. The echoed lead is awesome, stretched over the pulsing bass. I would have liked more lown in this song, but it lacks little else. There is a lack of percussion in several portions of the song, adding to the overall mysteriousness. Overall, this is a kick-ass piece, proving Phantom's ability to track a very melodious trance. The tracking is phenomenal in this one. Phantom has added a cool echo to the lead manually, which is done very well. The sharp panning in this one is done well, also. Again, in Phantom's tracks, less is sometimes more. He passed up several opportunities to do some killer manipulation, but the song works extremely well without them.

In some places there's a little static from the amount of samples being pushed, but it actually fits, to some extent. The ending needs some dynamic work, but this one's a good heavy trance work. There's not a lot of work done technically in this track. However, the work that is done in it is executed beautifully. The downside to this one is the annoying claps that are overdone in some places, and the changes from out of nowhere. There's not really a climax to this, it just begins, runs, and ends. Not a bad tune, though, if you like dance/techno. Overall, it's light leads and heavy bass put it almost identical to most other songs of this variety. Worth a listen, though. Another 13 minute song in this series. This one is not really to be listened to, it's to be endured. Call it a test of manhood. I barely made it through the whole piece. I can't handle that much time spent on the same pattern over and over, and that's exactly what this one is. The sample quality is lacking as well. This one doesn't get a zero simply because I pity the tracker, who wasted valuable time writing this one. With thirteen minutes to play with, you'd think that a song could have some really cool effects. Where to begin...this song is almost thirteen minutes long, and to be perfectly honest, a little tiring. It's repetitious to an overdone extent, it has some really poorly looped samples, a weak drum line, and the lead panns all over the place, making one almost dizzy. It did have a few redeeming qualities, though. Stretched throughout that twelve plus minutes are more leads than I could count, all different. At least the leads weren't done over and over like the rest of the song. I found myself wanting to stop playback several times, but just before I did, the song would change. Sometimes it changes a little too suddenly, but at least there was some variation. However, once the break was finished, it was back to the old pattern again. It does have a nice segment near the end, though, where the the song turns almost comical to an extent, and is actually quite good for a few minutes. Overall, I think it is way too long, and is in need of a trimming, but it has some interesting melodies. The panning was overdone. Way overdone. It had good dynamics, though, and some good sample ateration in some places. It definitely needs some more though.

Overall, I would say that this track is worth listening to, and something I'll play over and over. The panning works well in this track, engulfing the listener with high quality samples. Well, the song starts out cool, with a heavy techno feel, but loses a little after the opening. The ending is waaaaaay too long, as well. The artist apologizes in the sample list for the bass drum and cymbal pattern, which is one of the first things I noticed. This is pretty much straight techno tracking, complete with the standard drumline. It isn't overdone, as the artist offers countless rhythmic changes in the midst of the song. It's a good track overall, and sounds a lot like something you'd hear in an old video game. The tech specs on this one are weak. There's not much diversity in the sounds, and I think the artist could have really done some more interesting things with this one.

The acoustic guitar in this song was really nicely done, but the lyrical recording was a little weak. I couldn't make out the words, for the most part, so I can't really comment on them. The leads are well done, and fit into the overall groove of the song nicely. Though it was a little repetitive, it fits well into the lyrical genre, as they are repetitive in general. The voice samples need to be reworked, because they are a little off beat in some places. Alos, the guy doing the singing is not a professional. Not a bad run, though, at a difficult type of track. The ending dropped out suddenly, leaving the listener once again wondering ehat just happened. The redeeming quality of this song is the syncopation, which the artist uses quite well. The artist has a wide range of ideas, and the music reflects that. There are several leads in this song, which makes less tiring than a lot of trax out there. The bass line is fun, yet simple, as is the rhythm in the piano chords. The leads fit nicely into the song as a whole, and the sound effects give it a lot of character. However, the simplicity of the tune makes it the type of song you would listen to a couple of times, then toss it. A good work by an artist who apparently has some unique ideas, though. The only thing I saw was vibrato and volume slides. While those are definitely useful, they were not as effective as intended, I believe.

The song flowed very nicely, and appeared well thought-out. The progressions fit wonderfully together, especially around the 1:20 mark. That, in my opinion,is the best part of the song, as it builds to a nice climax. However, coming off of the climax is a bit of a letdown. The point is still well made musically, with good transitions and a nice melody. This tracker apparently knows how to manipulate in the pattern editor, taking full advantage of vibrato and offsets. There wasn't much work done in the instrument field, but it honestly didn't call for any, in light of the work done in the pattern editor. This mod is only 4 tracks as well, and is clearly well done in that respect, considering the fullness of the music.

This song is extremely repetitive, and seems to throw the same lead around far too many times, with only minor modifications. The chord progression is simple, but has several opportunities to move on to a nice bridge. However, the author chose an endless loop of four chords, so I'm going to have to say this one is in need of some work. Well, the author utilizes some basic stereo options, and a few minor changes in the panning, but other than that this one's pretty straight. The samples also seem slightly off-key in some areas. More attention should have been paid to the technical possibilities in the lead.
