Scener 'sasq' has released a proof of concept module player for the Android mobile platform, today I tested it on my G1 and was so far pleased with the results and happy that there is a module player for it at last!.

It's very rudimentary at the moment (obviously) but I've prodded the developer to hopefully continue adding to this player. More info here

DroidSound is a proof of concept module player for Android mobile devices, and is developed by Sasq.

This thread is for news and development testing feedback regarding this player.

Supports: MOD, S3M, XM, IT, STM, MTM, 669, NSF, GBS, SPC, SID

Confirmed Issues:

- IT playback is a bit buggy in that it occasionally corrupts samples, this seems to be an issue with the library and not the android loader.

- SID works but TinySid is not a very good SID-emulator so many songs sound completely wrong.

- Some SPC songs do not play correctly

The download appears to have disappeared, so has the author, for some time since this was originally posted. You can find the droidsound.apk file as a download on one of the following replies to this thread.

Hello all Nitrotracker users! I am going to be starting a 31 day challenge in which I will make (or try to make) and submit a song every day for the month of July, using only Nitrotracker and any samples that will work in Nitro (recorded and vocal samples included).

Demoparty season is at hand, and lots of parties are up and coming for anyone who want's to enjoy the demoscene and maybe even participate by releasing music/graphics/photos/demos/invites and so on.

I recently got back from Outline 2009 which was absolutlely awesome, and I even produced a little expose-fun video of a tiny fraction of the party atmosphere. You can catch it HERE!

My next parties will be:

Rewired - Belgium (Netherlands/Belgium border)

Sundown - United Kingdom

I will try and attend more but as it happens work and money don't permit that much flexibility at the moment!

Demoparties, Events & Compos / DP: Outline 2009 - Netherlands (April 2009)

Yay

Tomorrow is the Outline Demoparty in the Netherlands. It runs for 4 days (Thursday - Sunday)

 It's situated in a remote part of the Netherlands, and I'm not kidding when I say REMOTE, there is not even Internet there. So hopefully if all goes well at least we may be having a UMTS mobile internet connection to share (weee so slow!).

Anyway, I'll be there and will be meeting up with a few of friends I met at Breakpoint as well as many more.

Website News Archive / Welcome to TMA Version 4!

Now that the 'minor' scheduled maintenance is complete, I'd like to welcome you to the newest incarnation of The Mod Archive. For a quick run-down of what's new (other than the brand spanking new layout) check out the what's new page.

This has been about two months in the (re)making, and a heck of a lot of work. I would also like to extend my thanks to Saga Musix, Jojo, whom has been a core shoulder of support for the entire duration of the project. As well as being there to bounce ideas off, he has also provided some of the know-how to get fiddly design code working.

I am totally exhausted, and I've been dreading this moment - will it work? won't it? why did my LAN fail during the key moment of transferring? (seriously, that really had me screaming at my screen, my wife will vouch for that!). Well anyway, it's here and working (as far as I can tell) so I hope you all enjoy the new website and will consider giving us a shout on the forums or even on my shoutwall

By the way, a word of caution: clear or delete your cookies for modarchive.org, you might have some odd logging in problems and/or menu discrepancies if you have an old cookie in your cache.
