Look what I made! / Gamestuff!
« on: November 08, 2016, 06:32:24 »
EDIT

The soundtrack of the demo of the game is available here. You can also download the game from google play. The sound design was a blast to make too.

/EDIT

Hello!

So I've been working as the lead audio designer and composer on this mobile card-based fighting game called Skirmish. Spamminating a concept track I made for the alpha version. Go clickety (soundcloud). Kinda scene related since I'm doing all of it with Renoise. Yes, even the sound design. :D

Go follow the game on Facebook, more music and a playable version coming soon. It is actually awesome.

Look what I made! / I put out a compilation album of my tracked works
« on: February 02, 2016, 09:48:34 »

Impulse Tracker & Chibitracker works from 2000-2010. Tons of songs Modarchive never saw due to Chibitracker bugs and my usage of it's native reverb and chorus.

I had to go through ALL of my old songs to pick out the tracks and then fix a whole load of bad mixing decisions and master them one by one to get even a somewhat consistent sound for the album (a process which took around 18 months because I simply didn't want to do it), so I hope you'll enjoy the end result.

On an added note, I want to donate a portion of the revenue to Modarchive's server costs, so if you do end up buying it, know that you're also supporting the scene. :)

Look what I made! / I did some chillout. An EP's worth of it.
« on: November 10, 2011, 14:10:51 »
It's not nice to end a long absence just by popping in to spam around, but can't help it.

Aaaanyway, I put together a chillout EP during the summer, got it finally released. All kinds of links (itunes, bandcamp, direct download) at:

Fans of xerxes might like it, or well, at least xerxes himself does.

The Lobby / Fallout 3 Alternative Soundtrack announced
« on: November 23, 2008, 18:29:18 »
Hey guys.

As the title suggests, we're making an alternative soundtrack for Fallout 3 - a soundtrack that follows the atmosphere of the earlier Fallout games more faithfully than what Inon Zur made for FO3.

The soundtrack will be made available to download free of charge and it'll replace all the music heard in-game.

The core group consists of Sampo "Ceekayed" Närhi, Gábor "oldbrian" Valasek, Michal "Claymore" Dlouhy, Maciej "trompkins" Stankiewicz and a person known as Xaimus.

Head to http://fo3.xaimus.com for more info and previews.

ChibiTracker Bug Reports / Weird filter envelope bugs
« on: April 13, 2008, 23:46:16 »
When using filters for some samples it just converts the sample to loud white noise and doesn't actually filter it at all. This does not happen always, and I've been having hard time figuring out to which samples reproduce this bug (though I've not had the time to really test it systematically).

However, this is the only bug in chibi that is really disturbing at the moment. Other stuff work fine enough. There are some weird little bugs with the filter envelopes in generally, but one can easily live with them as long as one can accept that they don't work exactly like in IT.

The Lobby / Introduce yourself - Ceekayed v2
« on: March 02, 2006, 15:07:02 »
Ah well, I guess I'll write a short bio aswell.

So, I'm known as Ceekayed across the whole scene (my earlier handles were STB and Crimson King). I started tracking at the age of 10, in '96 or so.
I started with Impulse Tracker, and will continue using IT for my composing, at least for now.
I'm currently doing freelance music for ads and video-productions, but I don't really have enough work, so I still track for myself and for the scene every now and then. :)

"Career" on the scene so far:

'97 -
First song released in Trax in Space, under the handle S.T.B.
Can't remember the song's name, though.

'97-'00 -
A load of songs released in TiS.
Joined The Modarchive as an artist.

'01 -
TiS is gone (or did it go '00 already?)
First Top10 entry in TMA
Over 3 completed songs/week, totalling over 200 for the whole year.

'02 -
Three songs at top10's in TMA
Slowed down a bit - only completed about a song/week

'03 -
Got my first short-video projects in the school I studied in.
Deleted all my own songs from my HD while I was drunk (even the ones that were just waiting to be released).

'04 -
More short-videos, also did musics for a few ads.
Changed my handle to Ceekayed
Not many releases.

'05 -
Two songs at top10 in TMA.
Hit 100 000 downloads in TMA.
Quit making metal, and started composing electro instead.
Learned to track. ;)

'06 -
We'll see...
