Morning at the Village Square = Approach (https://modarchive.org/module.php?155605) by Nightbeat
Looking for the Birds = Ask Not (https://modarchive.org/module.php?178036) by Warder

Given the general style I am sure there are a few more tracks by Warder in there that I don't recognize.

Warn the People  =  Badliz - The Battle of Honor.it

Oh yeah, I knew I had heard those Badliz tunes before.

I'm just honored to be featured on the same album with Nightbeat and Warder. :D

I'll drop Warder a message though if he wants to do something about the rips.

The one i'm having trouble locating and the most annoying is The Battle is Over (10)..

I so recognise the tune and it's really bugging me what it is. I'm sure I'll remember what it is...

Knew it was well known, all i had to do was listen for 8 seconds longer, as the 1st sample that's played in the module has been cut..  Nice find..

now it seems like original modules ripped in track 1-3 had a name that start with the letter a while 5-10 started with the letter b. (with the exception of 6, which started with "the", but had a word that started with b right after)
but i dunno if original module ripped in track 4 starts with a or b...

(excuse my shitty english)

its quite similar to what sa mowar did as all songs he ripped for his/her lost in love album had a name that all started with "al". maybe sa mowar and babylon project might be a same person. and maybe they both selected modules at quick picks

Ditto Music wasn't so cooperative. They told me to send copyright claims to all the stores individually and have them deal with it instead of just investigating the case themselves and pulling the release off from distribution.

Yeah, I sent them a response asking them to review that ridiculous stance. As the distributor of the illicit material, they're the final link in the chain and have the easiest time resolving the case.

Do you want us to add some power to that? I can write them as well about this.

Apparently no amount of pressure will change their stance. I'm too busy to be sending copyright claims to youtube atm, will do it some time when feeling like it.

Funny thing with these ripped albums, none of them are making more than $5 a year anyway. Just a matter of principle to take them down.

...and in the end, it could prevent you or others from spreading your own music for free because that distributor would claim that it's theirs.

apparently babylon project's what happened in the forest album just got taken down from youtube so.... justice served?

"a good harvest" has been found: "A Lullaby" by Beastie. https://modarchive.org/module.php?135598

also that album is resurfaced, see the 1st page for link

The resurfaced album is still up, but this time distributed through Routenote rather than Ditto Music. Maybe it's worth contacting Routenote about this matter. Would you be up for that, Ceekayed?
Maybe also tell them that you demand to get the full contact data of the uploader of the infringing material, saying that you consider legal actions against the uploader. If they give you that, we could figure out if it's the same guy that also uploaded my tracks.
The process was really straightforward with Feiyr, so I'm sure not all distributors are as unreasonable as Ditto. If they are, it might be worth saying that they will hear from your lawyer if they don't look into it, maybe that will get them started. :)

I notified Routenoute about Babylon Project and asked them to release any public information about the artist and any other information they might have on the matter (e.g. aliases).

Generally distribution services will assign ISRC and UPC codes to tracks released via them (which would also give further public info, including the name of the "composer"), but I'm coming up empty with Babylon Project. I'm also coming empty with ISWC searches for this stuff. It's like they're half smart and choosing only distribution options that do not require any identification.

In the meanwhile, can anyone identify these tracks:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kn150RNLxrbG5FUPhWT5rXV77AGGQ-pu8

Edit: I just realized the mystic forest album is basically the same track all over and over again with minor instrument and progression changes. It also sounds like it's made with a more modern DAW, which makes me suspect we're not going to find the original file from tMA.
The other album also seems a bit too modern, but could very well be made with Impulse Tracker as well, but I suspect the tracks would be pretty famous and quickly identified if that was the case due the level of expertise you need to pull it off (sounds more like sample-based Renoise work due the reverbs that are no doable with oldschool trackers). Also as with mystic forest, the uniform in sound and style suggests the whole album is made by a single person (which is unlikely to be Babylon Project himself).

Indeed, that sounds much more uniform and high-quality. If we assume it's ripped, it could be some lesser-known videogame music. Very unlikely to be pure sample-based modules indeed.
It's interesting that this stuff only seems to be spread to YouTube and Spotify, and not other download stores.

I managed to pull the ISRC codes out of Spotify, but lookup on them finds nothing as well. The releases are just probably so fresh that they've not been updated to the international database. Once they're added, I can get the composers' real name.

Fun fact though, they're claiming the tracks were made in 1974 and 1975 according to the year of reference part in Babylon Projects' ISRC codes.

edit: Routenote is investigating, they'll contact me for further info or not. Stuff should disappear anyway.

Routenote was fast at dealing with the report, their stuff should go down promptly. Babylon Project has 5 days to respond to the claims and if they do, Routenote will put me in touch with them directly. Doubt it's going to happen, but one can hope.

No response from the "artist", so they've removed the album indefinitely.

It'll probably reappear with another internet publishing platform eventually. >_>

Did you receive any information on the infringer?

No, I don't think there's a way around the privacy laws without actual legal action or the infringer disputing the claim and having to be in contact with me voluntarily.

I also realized the ISRC database won't show your real name unless you join a performance rights organization to collect the composer/songwriter royalties along with the streaming revenue. Shame that.

That's the point.. you cannot open any legal action against the person without knowing who they are. I got this information from feiyr's lawyer after I told them that I reserve the right to proceed with legal actions against the uploader.
