Tracking / How to create e. g. a good Melody in a Tracker?
« on: December 24, 2010, 08:59:00 »
When i listen to e. g. C64 SID files, i wonder, how they create/ed such good Melodies  O_O .

I mean, how did and do they do that? Entering the Melody in Real Time wasn't possible on a C64 or was it?

Maybe i should first learn, how to create a Melody on my Keyboard (a musical one, not the computer keyboard) and then try to recreate it in a Tracker?

I like to compare, making a Trackermusic-Piece to making a Pixel-Art-Piece...
Both have their Restrictions and Limitations, but with a little bit of Experience in Making Music / Drawing a Picture, you can translate your Style into a Trackerfile / Pixel-Art-Picture.

So, how did they do that?

btw.: Merry X-mas to you all  :) ,
Ingo

Well, here are my newer tracks - if you want to call them like that.

The first one in this Zip archive is called "a_new_start05s_e.xm" and is a chiptune. I was really trying to catch the feelings i had at that moment while composing ^_^ .

The second one is called "huelsbeckalike.xm" and is supposed to loop infinite. It is composed with some of Chris Huelsbeck's GEM'Z TFMX Samples :) .

I hope, you enjoy both of them and can tell me, what to do better next time and so on ^____^ .

Greetings,
.Ingo.

EDIT: Forgot the Atattchment ._.

Milky Tutorial - The Basics - First Steps Tutorial

here you can find my little Tutorial about the First Steps in creating Music with Milky:

http://www.seele07.de/milkytutorial/index.html

and the workfiles (tutorialsong) can be found here: http://www.seele07.de/milkytutorial/workfiles.zip

If the Tutorial is 100% complete and hopefully bugfree, i'll create an archive for reading it offline.

I created the english version with my simple schoolenglish, but i hope, it'll be good enough for all you Milky Newbies :) . Btw. there are two Version: A German version and an English Version. You may read the version, you understand best ^_^ .

Thanx,
Ingo

PS: maybe you want to include the Tutorial in the Wiki, if there will be something like a Wiki here in Future. And you are free to refine (the English Version) oder translate the Tutorial (into an other language, if you like).
