NitroTracker Community / Re: Make own samples?
« on: August 16, 2011, 13:45:23 »
The NDS has a microphone, so the answer is yes ;)

Drawing waveforms is not featured in v0.4, so if you want to do so you will have to compile v0.5 from the latest GoogleCode revision, which is still quite buggy.

Sorry for the late reply, but it seems this forum is getting abandoned...

NitroTracker Support / Re: Can't get samples to load
« on: September 09, 2010, 13:03:36 »
In the "Load & Save" tab, there are two checkboxes on the left. The "sng" (song-view) button will show the .xm files, and the "smp" (sample-view) button will show your .wav files.

Is there a good .wav to .xm converter that could fix this problem? :P
The .wav format is used for sound files (ie. samples), the .xm format represents songs (samples + pattern data).

Edit: By the way, if you need some help for getting started, check out the documentation on NitroTracker's website ;)

you mean, automation curves?

In the current version, there is no easy way to do this :( you'll have to do it by hand.
But this idea can be moved to the "Request" section : editing the instrument column would be a cool feature :)

(or has it already been implemented, along with effect column editing?) ;)

Allright, translation :
Hello NitroTracker community,
Is it possible to control NT with Easy Piano DS?

Thanks Tob, your software is
e x c e l l e n t

well... I don't know. Seems like the keyboard was designed to work with a specific software, so I don't think it can be used as a MIDI keyboard yet.
I may be wrong...

You're right.
Indeed, I confused wavetable synthesis with Creative's & GUS's so-called "wavetable" synthesis, which is actually sample-based synthesis.

And I also compared additive synthesis to FL's 3xOsc plugin... Waveforms are added, right, but not that way...

C'mon man, your name is Synthesis, you're supposed to know this stuff!  ;)

(well... :-\ :-[)

Done. :) We'll just have to wait for v0.5.

Actually there's been about a year and a half between v0.3 and v0.4.
And the latest news are quite recent.

(Sorry, this is quite off-topic, but MatriM3's "stop note problem" has been fixed since v0.4.
Seems like he's working on projects he started with v0.3...
Edit: and just like in any other FT2-like tracker, the note cut doesn't work at all if the tempo is above 250 BPM.)

But what you don't seem to know is that NT uses wavetable synthesis whereas the DS10 uses realtime additive synthesis.
So if NT would read DS10's .sav files, it would have to generate the right samples corresponding to the synth parameters, also taking into account automated controllers and LFOs!
And how could NT render delays, or more difficult, phasing or chorus effects?

By the way, extracting data from a cart is not that hard...

NitroTracker Support / Re: sample rates
« on: April 19, 2009, 19:39:22 »
You're coding for NDS right?
Don't forget that its frequency range is limited! I thought the maximum was 32767, but it seems it's 65535, given the fact that your example works for 44100 Hz.
Simply decrease the sample rate of your sounds.
