Look what I made! / Re: Plug plug plug

Hey, welcome to Modarchive! Land of pies and sweet tunes!

I listened through this song and I can see what you were going for. Soft sine leads, warm synths and mellow dynamics. You did quite well at achieving the mood, but frankly, you had several opportunities in the song to bring it even further. Here's some feedback:

- The intro was easily the best part of the song - good job on that one.

- The chip bass you used doesn't feel right in the context of particularly the first half of the song; it lacks texture and sounds thin. Can't quite place my finger on it.

- At pattern 11 I could hear you running out of ideas and merelly repeated yourself. there was definitelly potential for more. More variation or things going around in the background would have been an improvement in breaking the repetition.

- Loved the laugh track, you used it perfectly in pattern 4 and 5 to truly mark the mood progression.

For a beginner, you're good - merelly inexperienced. You can only get better from here on. 8)

Look what I made! / Eagle makes a Comeback!
« on: November 11, 2010, 19:45:56 »
Hey everyone!

Do you remember ol' me? I picked up tracking again. I have barelly touched a tracker since 2007. Feels good to be back. :)

Here's my latest creation:

Hopefully I have improved somewhat. Still have the same approach to tracked songs, though.

Any spontaneous comments? ;)

What's worse is that there's actually a half-decent song underneath all the voice noise.

Warning for audio hazzard! Turn down your volume and only listen if you are alone and prepared to hearing something awfully atonal!

Have you ever heard anything even remotelly worse than this song?

I sure hope not... :'(

I didn't only break it from the Code box, I rewrote it entirelly. Compare with the archive. Should be much better now. :)

Tracking / Re: What's your tracker / format of choice? And why?
« on: October 03, 2008, 16:31:33 »
SaxxonPike: You could mention that in the MilkyTracker forums as a feature request. Their forums are hosted as a sub-forum here at TMA.

Personally, I started with ModPlug Tracker, moved on to over 100 of bad trackers, made my own (Pulse Tracker, vaporware), moved on to sequencers, then to pen and pencil and now I'm tracking with MIDITracker.

If I already had Pulse Tracker II completed somehow, I would be using it a lot instead. ;)

Tracking / Re: Tracker for Mac OS 9?
« on: October 03, 2008, 16:20:55 »
I have brought up that topic before but there doesn't seem to be any good tracker, except for PlayerPRO, for MacOS 9 that is still available. And yes, I do agree that PlayerPRO is not really the best tracker there is. ;)

There's plenty of good sequencers however like Melody Assistant.

Help me find that... / Impulse Tracker v2.16
« on: October 02, 2008, 00:19:56 »
Does anyone still have a copy of Impulse Tracker v2.16? 2.16 is an unofficial version doesn't seem to exist anywhere on the net. If anyone still have it, please contact me.

Once I have it, I will archive and distribute it so everyone can get a copy of it easily in the future.
