OK, now it seems that normal wav samples that I've downloaded actually works quite well :). Is that how people usually do it? I mean, most tracker songs(at least MilkyTracker) I've seen on youtube sounds like 8 bit music(chiptunes). Are there any people who actually make orchestral music with trackers? I would love to see that. Can trackers compete with DAWs?.

Was not sure if this was supposed to be here or in the support section. Move it if you feel like it.

Anyway, so I am kind of new at MilkyTracker, and also trackers in general. I've made a few songs with it(2 of which I have shared here), but for some reason I just can't make to complicated tunes, because the sound just sucks... Just listen to my second song I shared on this website, and youtube. Listen at 1.31 to 1.48. You can hear like a weird, annoying, dark echo, or something. Really weird, and annoying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQuIbvL-w18

It's the same no matter what I do. I remember even making some similar instruments(yes, I make my own weird kind-of-8-bit instruments in MilkyTracker), but that only helped a little bit, unless I made something completely different(and then ruin the song a little). Yeah... First I can't use Linux to make normal midi music using JACK(XRUNS WOHOOHOOHOOO, SOUND ISSUES WOHOHOHOOOOO), and then I flee to MilkyTracker and I'm not sure that helped much :(. New computer? Get some real samples, and use them? Though, I haven't really tried doing it with real samples. I'll have to try that.

All I want is a computer that can handle making some music without flipping out, and then get some cheap midi keyboard :(...

Look what I made! / New song called "Mysterious Desert"!

Hi! I've made a new song called "Mysterious Desert" in MilkyTracker.

I think this turned out really well and is a little better than the last one I did. But, I guess that's subjective :). Anyway, it's a little more complex than the other one but still pretty simple... I'm learning OK?! LOL :). I used effects and stuff in this song(I didn't use ANY effect at all in the other one).

Hope you like it :).

You can either download the .xm file below or just watch it on Youtube...or listen to it on Soundcloud...

Hope you like it :).

EDIT I've deleted my youtube and soundcloud accounts. If you really still wanna hear this song(or any other of my old songs) you can still find it on mediafire: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/cx3jn53pugl16/Old_Music

Tracking / Re: The 10 most common tracker mistakes

Am I still allowed to post here? I mean it was 3 and a half years ago someone did? Whatever...

Anyway, these are some really good tips, and I think have to get better at being more creative :). Using more effects(honestly, in the first(and only...) song I('ve) made I think I used no effects at all...), and then making it much more varying(and not just loop the same drums and bass for 3 minutes).

I agree it is kind of simple, but that's something I am not that great at :). But I'm learning. I'm trying to not use the same drums and bass and loop for 5 minutes :). At least I had one part where I changed it a little.

Anyway, thank you, and I agree with what you said :).

Hi! This is my first post, and first 8 bit song(made in MilkyTracker in Linux).

Hope you like it :). And if you don't...well, at least tell me what could be done better :).

Hi! This is my first post on this forum, and my first song made with MilkyTracker. And in fact ANY tracker at all :). Though, I have used some programs like Mario Paint Composer, Magix Music Maker(LOOPS...lol) and some midi programs in Linux(Ubuntu Studio stuff...) to make a few simple songs.

The song is called "Hello World"(:)) and I worked on it for a couple of days, and made everything myself(no loops or anything downloaded, or anything like that). Hope you like it :).
