IIRC, this is done with a table from modland.com so you can't control this as a user, but I'm not completely sure...

the link is dead (http://index.php). hint: there's a tag called [iurl] in SMF that was made to  refer to internal links :)

Mod Library 1.1 is out, here's the changelog:

  • Added the ability to update the program
  • Added manual
  • Added configuration dialog for new features
  • Search terms may now also be one character long
  • Database will now also be shown if there are no custom programs in the "open with" list
  • The database may now not only be viewed as a report but also as icons or a simple list. Furthermore, the default action when double-clicking on any file may now be set: Show information, open file, play, show information and play.
  • Updating the database view won't result in jitter anymore
  • Language box now has country flags
  • The database may now also be stored as a M3U or PLS playlist file
  • When hitting the "Play module" button a second time, it will stop the module.
  • When right-clicking on a checkbox in the "Search in" frame, all other checkboxes will be disabled. Using the middle mouse button will check all boxes except the clicked one.
  • Auto complete may now be turned off.
  • If a file does not exist anymore but is still in the database, you will be asked if it should be removed.
  • Fixed a HTML entities bug in HTML report and removed hash column.
  • Fixed several small issues

There is also a highpass filter in OpenMPT... ;D
I guess you have to get used to one of them, Windows surface or IT surface...

The 'golden age of tracking' in the 90's may be well over...
Therefor, a new golden age of tracking began later ;D we're not dead, definately (at least i don't feel dead), and there are still enough trackers doing their business :)

Saga, this lad is a newbie. I bet he may barelly even have a clue what you are talking about with all that technical jargon. :]
Remember, there's always Wikipedia and you can't develop skills if you don't know anything about music and how to do music on a computer :P

Sampling / Re: Voice mixing software
« on: October 23, 2007, 20:39:43 »
I just uploaded it to my webspace together with the original example carriers and modulators and some two carriers (surp*.wav). The presets are pretty good to use, however you can modify them as you wish. Have a look at the manual to see what may sound good and what would not.

Link: Link removed, if you still want to have this freeware vocoder, contact me

I personally don't believe that there is no single software that can do all tasks at once.
If you want free stuff, Audacity may be your choice for recordning and basic effects. A non-free but very powerful reocrding and mastering suite is WaveLab, it also supports VST plugins which may be used for extra effects.
If you want to create alien or robot-alike sounds, you may try a vocoder. a very nice free vocoder i know is called "Zerious Vocoder"...
