The Lobby / m0d reaches 300 posts! :O
« on: November 01, 2006, 01:58:07 »
@Axxy:  Haha, out of date or not, my pretty pie chart had a good run.  Ah, and I looked over xerxes' scene.org page again, and I think I have them all.  The most recent stuff he's put on there seems to be his Mirror Formula and Xerxes For Dummies compliations, which I've been keeping up with already. ;)  Thanks mate. :)

@m0d:  Hehe, glad you got a kick out of it.  :D

Sorry for the blatent randomness, but that's what this thread is for anyway (sorta).

Our glorious administrator, m0d, has (at the time of this writing) reached 300 posts!

*clap clap clap clap clap*

:)

EDIT:  I felt bad about this message not having enough substance to hold itself up, so I added a pretty pie chart.  Behold how our top 10 posters represent about 2/3 of all TMA Board posts!

The Lobby / Other Interests
« on: September 14, 2006, 22:28:06 »
I play piano, and have been for many, many years.  In fact, it's been so long since I started playing that I should be a superb performer and pianist by now.  I'm not though, because I interest more simply in learning to play and experiment with interesting sheet music, rather than to excel in technique.  There's just so many interesting sounds, such a range of texture you can achieve on the piano I find...

You want to learn accordion eh?  My dad owns an impressive collection of old restored button box accordions, and I've taught myself to play some tunes on there.  It's easy to learn button box by ear.  Just get your hands on one and have a hoot.  Keyboard accordion, on the other hand, is a little less intuitive to play.

Anyway, yes, piano, as with anything I ever do or experience affects my state of mind, thus affecting my tracking.  Exposure to different sounds and experimentation on piano inspires me the most, I think.

Tracking / ProTracker autotune samples?
« on: September 04, 2006, 23:07:32 »
If ProTracker auto-tuned them then shouldn't they end up to be all in tune to the same base frequency, thus all in tune?  What I think happened is that when you edited your sample waveforms you messed up the tone ever so slightly, so that's why your samples don't sound in tune anymore.  That's just my flat-out guess though.

The Lobby / Introduce yourself - s-go (TheNuke)

Ah, I was wondering how a name I didn't recognize was able to beat xerxes in the last ohc here.  Now that I see you're TheNuke, it makes more sense.

Welcome back!  :)

237 modules of (mostly ;)) wonderful music.  Hyo's music is of a beautiful and unmatched simplicity.  I'm a big fan.

The Lobby / Modarchive banner page.

While we're on the topic (sort of), was "a distinctive collection of mods" Mod Archive's official slogan at some point, or what?  I haven't seen it anywhere except in those banners, though I've only been around since 2003 or so.

Tracking / Looking for a few samples.

You obviously didn't go check the freesound project, even though you put a reply in that post.  :)

Is just one of the many good acoustic guitar packs there are on that website.
