PC Players / VLC Player
« on: January 19, 2009, 03:40:36 »

I went looking for players that could export out to Mp3 so I can play the tracktunes on my various mp3 players. Just to get going, I stumbled onto VLC player.

However, that interface for conversion is clunky at best, and it doesn't skin smoothly on my machine either.

I already use DeliPlayer for routine playing. Anyone have favorite utilities for power conversion of tracks into Mp3?

Our illustrious m0d seems to like it!

"[Mon 03:07] <m0d> brilliant, thank you! I am going to bed now (it's past 3am, work in the morning). otherwise i'd have posted in the thread."

This is a fairly neat resource for me to learn more about the genre.

This is the one I knew of:

Help me find that... / "LostWare"
« on: January 19, 2009, 03:14:42 »

Here's a question I have been working on for some time now. You guys are among the best in the scene, so if *you* don't know what a piece is, I'm not sure very many other people in the world do. I am not aware of any master controlling entity for the tracker scene that would parallel the standard music labels.

Banking on the generally friendlier atmosphere in this already niche scene, I am interested in something we can call "UnknownWare". The idea is that it is used provisionally with a replacement backup in mind, and a specific link to its unidentified status.

New developing creative artists need something to mash around and learn on. However, if the actual artist does surface, they would be respectfully asked if the piece can continue to be used as a form of promotion, or if they wish it taken down, it would be replaced. Then a thread such as this would be updated with the now-located creator information.

Opinions?

Okay gang.

I made a page and Notable'd it unto the next time zone. The writing style is pretty sludgy so I'll leave it to my betters to move it around.

I'm pretty damn sure the forum posting warns you that you are about to bump a _very_ old topic...

oh well.. :P

And now you can be more than damn sure.

"Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days.

I saved a snap of the frontpage into my music folder so that I at least have it tagged as something to do.

Feedback to follow at my some variant of my usual glacial pace.

Tracking / Re: .MP3 to .MOD conversion?
« on: December 02, 2007, 07:25:20 »

I am interested in seeing a couple examples of this. I have heard occasionally "Oh, I left Tracking for composing in Mp3..."

When I get some time I'll look around for musicians who would be open to any promotion they can get (thus no usage problems).
