How do I install or use the LAME encoder with OpenMPT? The native Windows encoder sucks, so I wanted to use LAME but didn't know how.

Any help?

Step 1: Download LAME
Step 2: Put it into the OpenMPT directory
Step 3: Select the appropriate encoder in the mp3 export dialog.

you mean put the exe file in the same directory as OpenMPT? or do I extract everything in the downloaded ZIP archive into that directory?

as far as i know, you only need the EXE.

and btw, as the parent forum's title suggested, the "help" forum is only for help about our website, not general help for anything. i moved this to the general talk area.

well I copied the exe of the latest stable release, and it didn't give me the option to use the LAME encoder. Is there a site with a help topic or something for this situation or what, because I looked, and I didn't find anything (or anything helpful at least)?

Any help?

You also need lame_enc.dll in the directoy. More help about this is available at the modplug forum.
