Wanna make your own Chip Samples? Use vChip!
« on: June 12, 2006, 21:51:24 »

Hey everbody!

i've programmed a little and nice tool in the past few weeks with which you can create cool chip-like samples (up to 800 samples long :) )
you can downlaod it at http://sagagames.de/download.php?file=vchip. there's more information at http://sagagames.de/?programm=vchip, but  that site is unfortunately on german. but my proggy is in english, don't panic :)

have phun!

Well, it's a nice little tool, but making pure chip sounds is so easy with any software that a separate program for the task feels rather useless... Yet, after some fooling with the program I got so cool sound outta it that I actually exported it and am going to use it. :)

A nice tool, yet the interface was a bit confusing first.

Edit:

Here is a little demo I made using the nice sample (and filters). 22kb.
Modplug overdoes the sample vibrato again. Bleh.

hehe, thanks :) and be aware of the "DJ mixer" with which you can play to music with your own chip sample (will use a sort of keyboard interface and the glorious frequency slider ^^)

i don't think he means "Made WITH FL studio" ;)
he "made it using FL studio" for teh samples ;)

JOJO! I saw one of your recent posts about vchip and I messed around with it this morning. Great program btw! I'm kind of new to the chip scene, but after playing around with it this morning I was able to created some great sounds. I like how the program helps draw sines and saws for you because I suck at drawing witha mouse freehand
Anyway, I went to your site and downloaded all your samples you have up. Now all I have to do is create something of quality lol

I love tracker music. Some of my favorite musicians that use trackers are chunter, mick rippon, jeroen tel, maniacs of noise, organic io, vim, mark salud, strobe.

My tracker of choice is renoise.

robot: Please don't thread crap in other peoples threads. It's rude.
Merged with the vchip thread. OT posts removed.
There, tidy again.

If I have anything to suggest about vChip, that would be to turn off the sample playback on default. I had a little too high a volume when I started vChip and then got

Otherwise, it is a practical and semi-nice little tool for chips. Though, I prefer using other methods to make chip samples (using ModPlug Trackers sample editor and manipulating wave values with a hex editor).

oh yes, i wanted to turn off the volume on default, but i always forgot it. but now, i think, i need someone who can "translate" C code for me, coz i can't get the recording function (it should be used by the planned "DJ MODE") working... :thumbneutral:
