Hey all
« on: February 14, 2009, 07:04:16 »

I've actually been registered here for some time (about 16 months now) but never actually posted anything so I figured I would now.

I'm an independent DS game developer...that about sums it up. :) I once (under a different handle) submitted several tracks to modarchive that were made by my favorite tracker, Piotr Bendyk (XTD). At present, I am trying to locate this guy...if anyone has any leads, I'd appreciate the tipoff. :)

Well, as said in the how often do you track? thread, I'm amazed that I found you here; Distant Promises had a really nice soundtrack (although the sewer module was kinda corrupted and always resulted in a bluescreen or a reboot >_<)... Did you also do the music for other QBRPGs like Mysterious Song (which didn't have the best music, though, hehe)?

Mysterious Song's soundtrack was largely tracked by DarkDread himself, with a few modules borrowed from other sources. One of my current groups, Frozen Utopia, has produced a PC Engine conversion of Mysterious Song, with an entirely remastered score courtesy of Drake Woods. Some of the music in the released versions of Distant Promises was by Tarantula (used without permission of course hehe). I had intended to replace all of the borrowed tracks with original tracks by me, but we abandoned the project before I could do that. DarkDread gave me the rights to the game but I'm not sure if I will ever finish it or not. I also did a few tracks for my own QBRPG, Wrath Of Sona, though admittedly, not many people liked the ones I did. :D

I will upload all of the original tracks for Distant Promises if you'd like.

EDIT: I uploaded all the original tracks to my server:
http://www.nodtveidt.net/distant_promises_soundtrack.zip
I was going to upload them here but figured I'd wait to see if that was feasible. Some of these tracks are unfinished, and some aren't really the quality of work that is expected around these parts...

Thanks a lot! :) I know that some tunes were by Tarantula, since I've read the module texts years ago, but I was not able to find those tunes yet... Do you where I can get the originals, like the battle tune, Demons On Acid, or Aimless?

Btw, this is actually the 2nd time I regained some "original" mods today; I just received a mail from Firefox earlier today with the original XM file of his Rastaman remake.... Valentine's Day the other way around, yay \o/

Btw2: I've made a "remix" of the "Freezing Winds" track for my QB game "Dungeon 2" years ago; it's not as off-key, though X)

Demons On Acid was one of my own tunes...I had no idea it was in the original DP archives, as I don't recall DarkDread wanting to use it. I probably have some of the other titles still...I know I have all of Tarantula's work that was used in the game. I'll dig up the old archive and see what else is in it that I can find.

Oh yeah, I remember, Demons on Acid was not by Tarantula. But it was in the game. :)
