Xaschers Premier Songs!
« on: April 17, 2009, 00:24:25 »

OK, first of all, hi everyone! Just got NitroTracker about two days ago and after a bit of fumbling around I finally got the hang of it, enough that I want to show you guys my first three songs.

I want some criticism. I'm new to this and want to know what people think.

Also... if it matters to anyone, here's the order I made the songs in.

1) Journey Into Stars
2) Subways Are Happy
3) Tinfoil And Fillings

like the N°2 track , nice groovy melody and the N°3 for its glitchy aspect.
only need fast amens and blast tempo... but I am addicted, so i dont know if it count.

You're way better than I was when I first started Nitrotracker (the tracks I posted were about a year after I had first started fiddling with it, after I hadn't used it for a year). I really like the 1st song and the third song. Groovy and melodious. Did you already have a background in music before this?

You have real potential! Keep tracking, I want to see what you come up with. I wouldn't mind doing a coop song with you sometime!  ;)

EDIT: For criticism, I would make more full songs such as filling out the 'hi's, 'mid's, and 'lo's all at one time throughout the song. It's really not that big in your songs, because you always keep the listener doesn't notice this because of the interesting beat you make with the percussion or the rhythm of the melody, but if you fill the sound out, you will make the listener get distracted from the percussion and listen to the whole range of sound as a result (which is a good thing).

Wow, thanks a bunch.

Also, during a train ride over to Colorado I decided to rejigger my Journey Into Stars song. Find the newer version here.

Edit: Also, does anyone know of some good sample packs?

If you google search "Soundevotion Competition," they have some sample packs that you can download for each of the rounds (very good imo, they just have some stereo samples which don't work in Nitro).

Will check out new version of Journey soon...
