9XX SAMPLE OFFSET SIMPLE QUESTION
« on: August 19, 2009, 15:46:22 »

Hi,

I know that sample offest can be used to jump to certain points in a long sample (such as a particular point in a 2-bar beat to make breakbeats), but i was wondering:

when you use sample offset with a really short looping sample such as one cycle of a square wave, will it offset the sample everytime it loops or just the first time?

the reason i want to know is because i want to create different square waves from one square wave sample; a wave with square at 50% into length of entire sample, another with square at 25% of the length of the sample. know what i mean? sorry for lame explanation, hope im being clear.

any help much appreciated, thanks for the excellent program..only tracker for PDA!!

9xx in XM doesn't scale to sample length, 901 always means "start playing from position 1 * 256" which is way past your ordinary chip sample length. And if you use it on a longer sample, the sample will always loop back to the set loop start point, 9xx makes no difference there.
