E60->E6x cause jump position to the next pattern
« on: August 22, 2010, 22:14:40 »

Hello,

I used E60-E62 in one pattern. During playong the song, everything goes fine.
Then, the next pattern is played but passing the top of this pattern and starting at the same row where the E60 effect was set on the previous pattern.
Seems the jump position is not cleared after the last loop.

That's not a bug. Well, it is, in a sense. MilkyTracker is just emulating the weird behaviour of FastTracker 2. Simply stick a D00 command at the bottom of your patterns which use E60 and everything will be fine.

That's could have been a nice trick, but...

In my first pattern, it works fine going to the next. But in this second pattern, it doesn't works with the third one. A bad jump is back again...  :-\

Thanks anyway.

There's no but. That's the solution. You're most likely just doing something wrong. In case the loop ends on the last row, make sure that the D00 effect is in a channel right to the E6x effect, not left.

I see what you mean.
I added "D00" at the end of the same row where E60 was sets (*).
I had no "E6x" ended at the bottom, so not a problem of left or right.

I did it again to be sure, and now it works ???
(*) Well, not so sure now...

Ok, that's the trick ! :)

Thanks for that.

That does not sound quite correct. Just to go sure, this is what it's supposed to look like:

Sorry, must be :
''I added "D00" at the end of the same column where E60 was sets (*).''

About your picture :
It works fine, adding "D00" at the bottom of the same column where the "E60->E6x" effect sets. In fact, wherever the column I put the "D00" it works now.
