Howdy all,
my name's Ashley and I've been listening to chiptunes for quite some time, primarily folks found on
8bitpeoples.com and have been wanting to get into making them myself. For a bit my undergrad major was music and I've got a pretty comprehensive background in music theory and such, however I've never dabbled outside of playing an actual instrument and composing on paper. This is completely new!
I've figured out a lot of the basics from the helpful newbie guide posted on the site some time ago and have since found the following tutorials pretty useful:

One thing that's been alluding me is figuring out how to make nice bass tones that aren't too harsh. Any suggestions?
