Playing back samples without pitch?
« on: May 19, 2017, 02:28:32 »

I'm relatively new to this program, I've figured out most of the basics and I'm trying to use it to write a piece for the final project of this university course. I was wondering, is there any way to play a sample without it distorting to fit a note on the keyboard? There were a couple samples that I wanted to use that sound too off no matter what note/octave I attempt.

If you load your sample as a regular WAV/AIFF/etc. file, you can play it at middle-C (i.e. C-4), then it's neither pitched up or down. If you have e.g. taken the sample from another module, or if it's a RAW sample, you need to figure out the correct note on your own, because the information of the correct middle-C frequency is missing then.
