Maris seeking help making a medley
« on: November 25, 2019, 20:26:42 »

Maris here. I wanted to do a medley based around Internet's favorites, some modules, and YTPMV/MAD BGMs. I've been thinking of doing this for a year but IDK what to put first and which to put next, nor which samples to use. I wanted to both have a style of Chiptune and Elwood with a bit of modern electronic music together. I did some very short tests to make sure I'm doing okay with my skills. They don't have the styles I've mentioned but at least they're good. I'm open to any advice, help, or collaboration. I could maybe have a MAD creator/YTPMVer to help me with this.

P.S. I gotta find a way to remaster 8-bit samples, because many of them are too good to use.

This might not be the opinion you want to hear but it's the only honest advice I can give based on my experience:

If you have to ask other people what to do and/or force yourself to do something, it is probably not going to be fun. Sometimes time will fix this and suddenly you will be full of ideas, but don't press yourself to do something that you don't have ideas for - most of the time the result will be sub-par.

I guess so. I have a lot of ideas to put which music in, but I'm not too much of an expert of making music instantly like this, even though my Brain Power remix module sounded glorious along with the others I made. And besides, I have three YouTube Poops in the works for my channel, MemeKirisame.

Edit: Should've modified this post months ago

I've recently did a medley test that uses most of chiptune sounds and a little of electronic instruments. I've picked the Map Selection from SMW2: Yoshi's Island as a dummy. What do you think?

I've been starting on a note of many songs to put in the medley weeks ago along with yet another update which I edited my last post to replace the old one. Still waiting for some help and some collaborators.
