Sound driver initialization failed on plain OSX

Selecting any other driver than "MacBook Air Speakers" (like headphones or Loopback Audio for example), gives me a "Sound driver initialization failed. Try different settings or driver."-Error

What can I do?

MT 1.04 on OSX 14.6.1 (Apple Silicone M1)
