Easy & quick way to make a .MOD tune loop
« on: March 25, 2007, 21:02:08 »

I want to use some tunes posted here with Typhoon 2001, the Tempest 2000 clone. It needs MODs that are set to loop. Is there a byte I can set in the module header to have the whole song repeat indefinitely?

I had a look at this document (http://mediasrv.ns.ac.yu/extra/fileformat/modules/mod/mod-form.txt)
but it doesn't explain it very well at all.

Thanks for reading.

You need to change the pattern data. In the last pattern, you have to go to the last row. you have to place a B00 (position jump to position 0) in a free effect column.

Thanks for the reply.

What's a free effect column? I thought each column referred to one channel or voice. I tried just writing a B00 in one of the collumns on the last row but that didn't do anything.

I'm reading the ModPlug Tracker manual, and it says the screen layout is "self-explanatory". In other words, if you haven't used a tracker before, look elsewhere.

P.S.: Nice webpage, I like the design.

Do u mean mine? :)

Btt:
Every pattern is divided into channels which are divided into a note column, an instrument column, (an volume column for formats OTHER than .MOD) and an effect column. this effect column is where you have to put your "jump back effect":

I hope this pic explains everything. ;)

I meant your site. I'm just that nice.

I did try again after my last post and the manual did explain what the collumns in each channel stood for. I now made all the tracks loop in Typhoon 2001 and it works great. You can the music pack on my website: http://marco75.no-ip.info/stopgap/index.php?Typhoon_2001_alternative_music_pack

Thanks anyhow.
