An internal mo3 loader is not as easy as it sounds even if there is some source code around. Sample unpacking requires an mp3 decoder and since MilkyTracker is closed source project all these GPL mp3 decoding libraries available can't be used at all.

Why Milky tracker is closed source ?

the MO3 code pointed is also GPL2...
