Smooth deep base flowing and nice relaxing synth with it. Gives a kind of an underwater feeling to the song, and with it's soft brass like ambient synths it keeps the feeling up very nicely. The drums that come in spoil the feeling a bit for being too loud. Softer drums or something like that would have been a lot nicer. The tune is very repetitive, but still it's quite enjoyable and trancey. The drums would have needed some improvement and lover volume. Otherwise the samples are good and work well with each other. Repetition doesn't matter at this song as much as in the others, because here the thing that is repeated is very good sounding. The drums just annoy me, nothing more to confess.

Ok, now this ends the epical Mantra-series. This song has a quite good pace going on with it, a fast drum beat and demoish synths. Not actually mantra-like, except for the strings, but that's just a cheer up from the series. The lead varies nicely, and the sample for it is a nice high-pitched flute. Samples are pretty average, but they fit in quite smoothly. This song doesn't have so much of repetition as the other mantras, and this is in my opinion the best song in the series. Though I like trance music a lot, I'd like some more variation to the other parts in the series.

A dance song, that by the author includes two remixes, firstly german dance producer Sash's song "Stay", and a song he composed himself. In the beginning, a very basic information for all the beginning trackers out there. If you have a usual drum beat with bassdrum and a clap, you should put the clap on the second and the fourth time the bassdrum hits, not the first and third time. This is a pretty usual error in newbie songs. The string melodies are nice, but the song is way too repetitive to be a real enjoyment. And when the lead synth finally comes in, it doesn't sound anything special, it's not catchy. And it's supposed to be like Sash's "Stay". Well, atleast it doesn't sound like it... The second parts synth lead is a lot better, though the key changes in it are not quite good, but they are ok. Ofcourse this is a very good song for a newbie, because when I listen to this song, it sounds a lot like a song a tracker who has'nt tracked so long would write. Actually it sounds a lot like my first works :) The samples are quite good, but there should be more of them. You know, bass line, more synths and some cool fx-samples on the breaks of the beats. Well, this is a good song to begin with, now DJ P.H. just has to improve his works, and he could be something.

A remix from an old game. The string melodies are beautiful, though they click sometimes, but otherwise the strings and piano is combined pretty well. I haven't heard the original version of this song, so it's pretty hard for me to compare but quite a nice job, though the song is quite short. Some of the lead samples (brass, horns) are quite bad sounding, but that must be the way they were in the original version, because I recall that this game was for SNES, and the music there was something like this.

The song starts with a haunting synth combined with strings and cool intense trance-like bass. Then it moves to a nice peaceful organ melody, which is very nice sounding, and the strings make the feeling like orchestral. The leads in this song are very professional sounding and this is a very interesting song all the ways, especially if you are bored to the usual dance songs out there. The samples are very good, and there are no tuning errors. Also this song has that difference to many other songs, that also the ending is composed with care, and it gives the song a very nice "aftertaste". Also the transition from the spooky and trancey beginning to the piano sequence is very good sounding.

Ok, this is a very old song. It combines mostly of a monotonous acid line and a loud bass drum. The song is very repetitive and not really interesting to listen to. There are only some key changes in the acid line and actually no other changes. A totally boring song. This side is fairly ok, the main problem in this song is repetition. But this song only contains three kind of samples. Samples for the acid line, drums and awful hissing scrathes that are in the beginning. Ofcourse there are some special fx samples, but they don't really rescue the song. A synth would have already done miracles with this song. This is only a good base for a song, nothing else.

This is a very old song. The thing that I remember this song from, is that a pretty good tracker called Novus said that this was one of the couragers on his starting tracking career, and he has actually made a remix of this song too, which can also be found at MA. Well, speaking of the song itself, it's a pretty nice melodic song with good piano and flute leads. A nice pop song that you should download if you're into the style. The samples are quite awful, but it's pretty obvious, because this is such an old mod. Ofcourse if you want it done better, check out Novus's version (n_masq.it), though this song has ofcourse more of the classical feeling. :)

A pretty dull acid song that doesn't actually have anything more than an acid line repeated over and over and a very dull beat with it. More variation would have been needed, with maybe some string synth melody and some other stuff. Like this this song is quite boring. Not only repetition, the samples are way too bad for an XM file. Not a very good acid song, spoiled with repetition, I wouldn't recommend this song.

A very interesting tune that offers lots of breakbeats, cool guitar riffs and nice strings. The song is made very detailed, and it has a good beat in it. The song is quite long, but still pretty interesting. Not Necros at his best, but still an outstanding job. The beat is built very nicely, try to mute all the other channels and see how many channels Necros made for the drum beat, and with what quality! The rough guitars fit greatly to the style of the song and the groovy drums. Well worth for a download.

A dance song with fast leads. The drumbeat is pretty basic sounding, and it could have been improved with a snare or a clap in the beginning where it sounds bad. When the drumloop comes in this problem is fixed. The lead isn't so special, but it's quite catchy atleast after the composer has used it so lot, maybe even too much. This is the area with more problems. The samples aren't so good, and the song doesn't have so finished quality. There could have been inserted some detailed melodies in the background to increase the interest level. Also the ending is quite sudden. Otherwise a nice dance mod, but there are already so many of them...

The song starts with weird pads playing, but after a while a smooth drum beat comes in with nice synths. The song is quite nice, and it has some good background things going on all the time, which is very interesting. The song could have been made a little more longer, and it would have been more effective. Samples are average quality. The technics used in the song are pretty complicated and clever sounding. The only bad thing is the ending, something could have been done there, it ends too sudden.

A nice pop song that has quite good leads and interesting themes. The song is quite short, but it is supposed to be played looped, I guess. A big plus for the composer of making his own samples, that is always a positive matter. And the samples are quite good too. This is a nice pop song that is good for some listenings. The shortness is the biggest problem.

The song starts with a loud bass beat, but suddenly slows down to a weird sfx string and quietly a melody is starting to play with quite an awful synth, and the lead is repeated for the rest of the song. Also there are some weird vocal samples that are quite annoying sounding, and they contain bad language. The song is overall just too repetitive. The song is too repetitive, it's lead melody is dull, and the samples are bad sounding. There you have the songs biggest problems, and I have to say that only reason to download this is if you are a real fan of this artist or something.

A slow metal tune that has really nice guitar melodies and lots of variation, atleast in the beginning. The guitars are handled very well with portamento effects, and the arrangement is otherwise quite good. The samples are good S3M quality.

A groovy techno mod that strikes straight from the beginning. The first lead's sample is too chippy for the style, atleast for my taste, but the other leads are very good. This song is actually an interesting blend of demo/techno/dance/chip/trance. A very nice job, the song is very interesting and striking. It has a solid, working drumbeat nice effects and good leads, so it has all that you can ask for ;) The samples are the usual quality of the old 4-channel music. The author has gotten a lot from the 4 channels with good use of effects. A very good old style mod.

When I start to play this track, it begins with a solid techno drum beat with nice acid distortions and when you start to listen to it more, awesome strings come in and make the song sound damn good. After a while the song has a break, which doesn't quite fit to the style, atleast I think so, but it sounds pretty good still. Overall a very nice club tune. Samples are all great, and the song is made technically without any big flaws. A very good song and a must for every one who likes these styles or a NGS-fan ;)

Well, this is the tiny song that comes in after you win a battle in one of the best games in the world, Final Fantasy VII (Music to the game is made by Nobuo Uematsu). Well, ofcourse it is very expected to have lots of remixes from songs of a famous game, but who would want to get just the fanfare sound and 20 seconds of that "AP/Exp gaining screen"-music, which propably is the most annoying music that Nobuo Uematsu has made for the game? Ofcourse a true FFVII fan :) For the rest of you, ignore this song. Well, to review how Muzikweawer managed to mime Uematsu's works, the fanfare doesn't sound quite real, but the rest of the song does sound quite real. Samples sound quite the same as in the original version, with lower quality ofcourse.

Kind of a funky song, a little balladic though, but I think funk is the ruling style in this song. A splendid song with great guitar riffs and solos, and nice pads and strings. That's almost all there is to say about this song. Done wery well, and very interesting to listen to, which is not a surprise, as Jogeir has a "bit of a reputation" on the scene. This song proves you why, if you already don't know. Samples are very good for a MOD. They are better than most of the same kind of samples that are in XM's or IT's. There is no repetition in sight, only lots of variation with different kind of instruments playing the leads. Only thing to pick on here is the weak ending, something better would have given the song even a better aftertaste, though the aftertaste is very good after this song.

The song is quite short, but it's a very high quality chip mod, and it introduces the basics in chip songs... Who cares about the samples, it's the melody that counts! The song sounds in the beginning very much like reggae before it moves in to the usual synth pop. An interesting style on a chip song, a nice one there. The samples are usual chips, but here is well shown that they always don't have to hurt ears, which seems to have been purpouse for some chip composers. The technical side otherwise is loaded with complicated texture to get all out from the 4 channels. Would fit great in a old C64 or Nintendo game. Totally an admirable job.

This is chip tune at it's best, very melodic and varied. The use of crappy samples is great. This song reminds of the best game songs from old Nintendos. Only problem is the shortness of the song, only a minute long, but this is still a fine example to do a chip tune. Very good use of effects here, and composer showed that a chip tune doesn't have to sound awful or too loud. This song wouldn't shame itself with the Nintendo-game musics

The song gets better trough the end. A nice exception in the usual music. This part is under control, except for some tuning errors in the piano, but they are almost unnoticeable except in the beginning. Also the ending isn't very creative, with only a fade.

The song starts out with a nice intro and builds up slowly, maybe too slowly to the part where soft pad takes over. The song is very nice sounding, until the pad lead comes too repetitive, then there comes in a cheesy sounding chip sound and takes away something from the atmosphere. The flute sample is also bad, though the melody that it plays is quite nice. But at 3:52 comes a bad strike, a sample that reminds me of the Mega Man games for Nintendo, and that's not a good sign. The song comes overall pretty dull to listen to, and it's over 7 minutes long. The tune has good parts, but they are repeated too much. The samples are quite bad for an XM. Also the song is repetitive. The song is nice to listen to for a while, but boring after few minutes. A shorter song could have been fine. The chip samples should have been left away.

This song is made by one of the definite rising stars in the scene world, Beat, who made a breakthrough with his great song "Celestial Fantasia". This song tops that and got the well earned first place at MC6 rookie division. The tune has clearly some affections of Purple Motion's works, but Beat has added a bit of his own touch to the song with some nice pianos. The leads are great and all the melodies in the background work awesomely with the beat. A true masterpiece from beginning to the fantastic end. One big improvement from Beat's "Celestial Fantasia" is the sample quality, which is now top class. Samples are very clear, and the song is throughout made very well. This is a song that should be listened from the beginning to the very end. A superb job.

This song should be downloaded by everyone who enjoys dance music, this is one of the pioneers. The convertor didn't mind putting his name on the tune, so all the credits to Metallica. This is one of the best songs that they have made, atleast I think so, and the convertion is, not the same, but still very good sounding. Surprisingly good sounding for a .MOD actually. Everyone must have heard the original song... Well, if you haven't, try it. Briefly said, this song is "trash metal" at it's best. Only the vocals are missed. The samples sound nice, even for an old mod, as the whole song, and that is the most important thing. This song gives 6 minutes of great riffs and a great metal feeling. The song is not actually gabber or hardcore, the bass is too soft and too mushed up, and it doesn't sound a bass drum at all. So it sounds pretty bad with other samples and the rest of the song is a bit orchestral. The strings are fine, as the drumming with them, but the synth solo that comes in is untuned and the chord progression is weird. The drum sample was distorted too much, as I just complained. The song doesn't give anything special to the listener, it's repetitive and not very interesting. The best thing in the song were the nice strings.

This is a very trance like tune, just without any drums. I waited and waited for the drum beat, but it didn't come. I know that many composers would have placed a nice beat aside these fancy melodies, I know that I would have... But this solution is still pretty nice, playing with syntheziser sounds. The song's begin is very beautiful sounding, a firm melody played with nice sounds on background. At about 4:30, there comes in a new melody, and it seems like a start of a new song. This time a much rougher synth, but it still keeps up it's bright look. A tune that could well fit in any demo, you name it... 7 minutes of nice and interesting synth sounds. Very peaceful and relaxing melodies, and the samples are very good. All techniques are under control, no doubt of that when it's Skaven in business. Very demo-ish, but still a very interesting tune to listen to.

At nearly two minutes there starts a very nice string sequence, and excitement is nicely created to explode the great melody to come in. The song is made very detailed and the samples are great. The starting is very promising, a very intense rave tune with cool acidbass line, and it keeps on going with a rocking beat. The only bad thing here is that some of the samples seem to be corrupt and are only a hissing noise. This ofcourse ruins the overall impression of the song very much. But this song should still be downloaded for it's great first 1:30 part. It has some serious rocking going on. It's a shame that some corrupt samples ruined this tune, this would have surely been a classic. Maybe someone oughta remix this song and give it all the chances it had. I almost feel sad for the composer for making such a great tune, and then it's halfly corrupt. This would have been a 9 point rocker without that corruption. Maybe I can get the original version from elsewhere...

A song that tries to be somekind of a parody of a hit song from early '90s called "Short dick man". The main vocals are imitated from that song and there are also some vocals complaining about flat tits. The melody in the background is very noisy and bad sounding, and doesn't really fit the vocals. The song is not even very funny, so I would'nt bother to get this one. Samples are quite good, except for the lead sample, which is too scratchy, it would better fit in some hardcore tunes then this kind of soft dance music. Also the vocals start to annoy you after listening to them for a while. A bad idea to make a song of, and to be straight, a bad song.

Again Netron presents a huge dance tune, and I am sorry to say that again it's too repetitive. Also some solutions on the song are very strange, like the part where global volume is slided so awfully that you could think that your speakers are broken. Also the transitions are pretty weird, and most of the melodies sound like they were just thrown in there. The lead melody is fair, but I think I have heard it in some "boom-boom song" at MTV... Samples are quite good in this one, some funny percussion samples. The biggest problems are repetition and the weird melodies. Some of the basics like drumming is fair, but the melody section could use some improvement.

I sometimes have to format my machine totally, and I lose all my data, even the mod files, and without them I can't live. And when all the mods are lost, this is the first tune I'll download (That might explain the high number of downloads :P ). That tells you already a lot. This song is a megamix of songs by a German rave band RMB. The tune itself has divine piano and synth lead melodies, with great strings and bass synths and ofcourse (?) a nice thumping bass beat stomping. If you consider yourself a fan of any kind of danceable music, you should get this one. It's 7 minutes of pure heaven. Ofcourse this grade could be lower, because this is a sort of a remix, but Mad Max has done a wonderful job on moving on from a song to another, very smoothly, and sometimes he has managed to make the tune sound better than the original RMB-songs. I don't mean in sound quality, but it's just a bit more commercial I guess ;)

A nice hihat drumming starts this song, and as we get further a synth comes in playing a pretty simple way. Then excitement gathers in at 2 minutes, but when it all explodes, it just doesn't give you what you wanted for that excitiment. It doesn't burst itself into a climax that would have been the part of the song. Then the song just continues and ends. Biggest problems here: Way too repetitive and the lead isn't good. The drumming is very nice and I assume that the composer has learned all the basics in that part, but somethings could have been made better. Sometimes the lead sounds just simultaneous keypad striking, and that's not a good thing. Samples are quite ok.

Could a song start more annoyingly? A bad vocal sample repeated for about 1:30, adding some beat and weird samples to background. Then suddenly there starts to play a guitar riff sampled from U2's song. And that riff sample is fitten very badly to the other song. Then, at about 3:00 the whole song changes quite sudden to a atmospheric quiet sound, (it's sampled straight from Tomb Raider, I guess...) and a drum beat added to it. This doesn't sound so bad, but then the awfull bas line that was played in the beginning of the song, strikes back and fits very badly into the rest of the song. Then at little bit over 5 minutes, the song changes to some acid sound with the same drum beat working within. The tune is very repetitive, and too big for anyone to bother to download. Not actually anything technically so difficult. Pre-sampled cuts thrown in simultaneously, with a bad bass line and a typical drum beat. First release of the composer, but it could have been a little bit smaller than 4 Mb unzipped!! And ofcourse composer has to remember that when sampling parts of a commercial song, legal matters always come in...

Only nice part is at 3:40 a very nice synth part, but then the other samples that come in screw it up totally. This song doesn't really sound good, it's mostly a waste of space. The song is only recommended for some really (I mean REALLY) dance freaks. Samples are pretty nice, and it makes the song quite big. The song has pretty weird BPM, atleast it sound's too fast. When the bass kicks going and the snare is forgotten, the song starts to sound pretty nice, with a bassline working nicely beside the strings. Also the lead is very nice. And after that it's some nice hardtrance bouncing. Overall a pretty nice song except for the off-beat snare in the beginning. Good samples and no big errors, except that snare problem. If you download this, put fast forward to 1:30 where the song really get's going. Otherwise a very nice job in this department too... Someone would say that musical and gabber... Those are two words that don't fit together... ;) Though gabber isn't one of the styles that I like, I must say that this is one of the better HC/gabber songs that I've heard. Although it has some ear hurting untuning and a monotonous drum beat, it has somekind of melody, and it varies nicely. The scream sample is used too often and also the tune is just boring. Ofcourse if you like this style, you should download this one. It doesn't get embarrased even with the songs from some Thunderdome's HC-CD's. Samples are quite nice, hi-class hardcore samples :) . And you shouldn't get me wrong, I do like hardcore sometimes, but then it should be more rave-like with more complexity in the melodies and that kind of stuff. But at it's own style, this is one of the best ones I've heard tracked.
