Again a wellknown composer. And again a very detailed-made and high quality song. The leads aren't so interesting, otherwise it's nice to listen to, the arrangements are great and the song is varied to keep it from going to boredom. The song is very short and that kept it from getting an 8 or higher, but if you listen to it with repeat, the shortness shouldn't annoy you, because it's so well done that you can't notice when the song starts again from beginning. Samples are very nice. The drumming has got some nice latin drums with it to spice it a little bit from the original. Very creative work, and again a prove why this guy is so well known. A fine mod and you should download it for further listening. There are some very original sounding samples in it, too... Too bad it's an .MTM ;) The shortness is the worst problem in this song. So very short... Oh why?

A newbie song, so you can expect some nice ideas, lots of repetition, not well fitting samples, too short length and also bad samples. Ofcourse the composer will do better if he keeps on practising and reading all the nice tracking tutorials on the net. This song is a real let-down. Samples are average 8-bit quality, but that's not the thing to complain here, it's more in the way they were "thrown" in to the song. Ofcourse some one said in a review here at MA, that people shouldn't send their first songs to public archives... Well, I agree on that one... But on the other hand, all the newbie composers need some negative comments so that they can see where they are doing wrong and how to improve their songs... But this kind of an archive where people come to seek for hi-quality songs it's just a waste of time... Sorry.

The pure master of tracking, numero uno, god... He's Purple Motion. A song composed for some game, and ofcourse the true rating could only be done if I would see the game and how the music fits. But as an independent song, this works just great. Though I categorized it as an gamemusic song, which it definetly is, it is much like an ambient creation. Flowing in the dark skies and watching some skyscrapers and neon-lights glow that flash from the city far away... Beautiful to listen to and a must download for anyone interested in tracking. Only thing to complain is it's shortness, but that could be forgiven for knowing that the song was composed for a game. The tracking is divine here. No untuned samples, no hurting sounds, no repetition or lacking of interest. The song is just awesome.

A pretty nice tune filled with nice melodies and all, but it's quite a mix-up, and sometimes the samples don't really fit in. Still not bad at all, very melodic and lots of variation to keep the song interesting. Especially the break part with the drums is nice and pretty original. Overall a nice tune to listen to, but improvement could be done in clearing up the song and to make it longer. 2:30 is'nt enough. Samples are quite good, and song has some creative ideas, but the length and the too mish-mash sound are the big flaws of this song. Some people might not even care about that sound thing, so if you aren't so picky and you want a good ballad then take this one.

Starts with a very hypnotic bass line and sorts out to be a catchy pop tune. Sometimes the lead synth get's some weird changes and it doesn't sound so great, but most of the time the samples make a fine combination. Samples are lousy for an .S3M, better work there and the song would have improved itself. Also sometimes the fills don't quite fit in and the tune get's a bit messy. But still a pretty enjoying tune, and that beginning is top notch... just love that base line!

SUDS has discovered a new kind of style, aciddance :) Well, that's the only word to describe this one. A nice sounding acid with a dance beat working on the background. It works pretty good and the song is nice to listen to. There are some vocals added to avoid the repetition and that's a pretty good solution here. Sometime's it still get's pretty monotonous and interestion lacks... But it has definetly it's moments and it's not too bad at all. Atleast this one's better than the other song I reviewed by SUDS :P (Just kidding, I like some of your songs... I really do... Inspiration's good). Samples are very SUDS-stylish, synths are kind of lousy but they are meant to be that way. Repetition is the biggest problem in this song, but if you just want to dance, you won't mind that problem, it's just a bonus on the dance floor, like someone said at IMM, and this is definetly one of those songs that need to be played on the dance floor to have it's golden moments :)

A dance remix of the well known James Bond - theme. It doesn't sound quite exact with it's melodies and the guitar that plays the leads is very unclear. The song is pretty mixed up and only thing that you can hear clearly is the piano which is repeated all the way in the song. Sometimes it sounds nice, but most of the time it's just a zigzag of different sounds. It's quite short also. Not the best 007 songs out there. Samples were pretty awful and the ending was just terrible, a too loud guitar screaming right in my ears, no wonder my ears are in pain... The song is unclear and you really can't hear what's actually going on in the song.

A very interesting title here. The song itself is a pretty nice pop tune, but the quality level of the samples is too big, while some of the samples are good, some are very bad (drums for example). The melody is very good sounding, and the strings and the bass line work well with it. The drums should have been better quality. Drumming could have been more creative also. The drum beat that the tune has now, is pretty boring. I already mentioned the samples, but otherwise a nice job done here. No mistakes on the musical side (no mistuning, no offbeat going samples etc.) The composer just should have picked more quality samples to this one. Especially the drum samples were very poor. But not a bad tune itself. This is a pretty new .MOD file, from 1996, I guess it was made with FT2, and if it was, making it an .XM would have been a better choice. And even if it had to be a .MOD, the samples could have been a lot better. (That was pretty weirdly written, but anyway, you get the point?)

A pretty much of a mixed up tune with lots of sounds that don't really fit in with each other. The piano isn't too bad, but the bass line, acid strings and the orchestral hits that come up, sound just bad. Also the drum beat is pretty dull. Only good part starts in somewhere at 1:50 where the bass line matches with the lead acid. After a while the lead acid and the piano are pasted together and that sounds just bad. Some creativity would have been needed in the song. Not really worth a download. The song repeats itself badly, some new ideas would have been needed during the song. Also the samples weren't really tuned in the song, and they were thrown into the song pretty miscellaneously (I don't know how to spell that word, misc. you know... sorry...). Perhaps this is one of the first works at tracking by >

A cover song by one of the great, LK. I haven't heard the original one, but this one I heard the first time a long time ago, and I still find it very enjoyable and interesting tune. Ofcourse in my opinion it's not the best mods there is, but still in it's own class a way above average work. The fast beat, demoish synths, catchy piano and massive trumpet(?) sounds make the song what it is... a legend. It's pretty short though, only 2:20. But it's 2:20 by the king of doskpop ;) Very detailed made song, and ideal use of effects. LK really masters Fast Tracker well (no wonder, it's his group that made it...). The samples are very demoish, but they work great here. An excellent job! For anyone who wan'ts to see a perfectly tracked song, get this one.

A nice string start and after a minute a great bell kind of synth plays a melody and the strings are joined by an electric quitar which sounds pretty cool most of the time playing quietly in the background. When the guitar in the background starts to end, it goes a bit strange and doesn't sound so cool anymore. The "whining"-synth is also a bit odd in the start but when you listen to it, it isn't so bad after all. But still I missed something from this tune, maybe a lead melody and more detailed job... Maybe this just isn't the music for my taste, but I found this song musically a bit poor, so there must be something wrong in the technical side? Nothing big is wrong...Samples are fine, and no big mistuning, only the guitar sounded bad at one part. Maybe it's just the fact this isn't my style. If you like ambient type of music, you might enjoy this.

A remix from some german club hit. Tune is very club-like, repetitive and filled with well known drumming and a loud bass line. The start is very boring, but if you keep listening to it, it just goes better and better. Excitement starts to come at 1:50 when the lead synth is introduced, even though the lead part doesn't fit into the beginning. When the lead melody gets a beat to play in the background, it sounds just beautiful. The volume slided strings are so effective in the background. Other climax part of the song is the second lead in almost 5 minutes, which isn't as great as the first one, but still a fine dancer. Anyway, this song would be great in a club filled with dancers and speakers and woofers... Samples are nice, and some of them made by the composer himself. Some repetition, especially in the beginning, which drops the grade. Overall a good job done here. No musical errors or anything. For a dance music lover, like me this is strongly recommended, but some of you who dislike dance, this might be too hard to listen to, with its amount of repetition.

A very rough-edged ballad tune, but not bad at all considering that it's composers first works on tracked music. Not repetitive at all, it keeps up going interesting, and it has some nice melodies, but sometimes the melodies turn out pretty strange. Biggest problem is the shortness of the tune. There is not much to listen in it. Samples are pretty bad, and sometimes the melodies go out of tune. But for a newbie-song that isn't so unusual... A promising start for the tracker. This was made in 1996, wonder if the composer ever released songs after that?

A very fast-paced and aggressive sounding trance tune, spiced with some nice acids. Also the leads are pretty nice in this one. The one thing to complain in this song is the bass string sample, which is looped awfully and it sounds terrible, making the song harder to listen to. Without that sample this song would have been a lot better. Otherwise good samples except that bass string sample. Also the song is very good and it isn't too repetitive for a dance track. The leads are interesting and exciting, but still something let's it down...

Here we have a smooth pop song, but it has been made pretty weird with some robotic effects and stuff. Maybe that has been the idea in the song, but it doesn't sound so good to me. Without the robotic sounds this tune would have been a lot better. Well, to forget the robotic samples, there a pad playing a background melody and there are nice volume-slided strings with it and good melodies played by nice lead samples. Except for the robot samples, the samples are pretty good. The rest of the melody is nice sounding and enjoyable to listen to. The song could have been a lot better without these special effects. Otherwise a fine job to make the song sound interesting to listen to for over 7 minutes. No repetition or anything...

A dance tune with a vocal sample and woman moaning on the background. The vocals are pretty fast said, and I think that no one gets an idea what there's been said. When the beat keeps pumping, the snare sounds really bad ruining the whole drumming. And the drumming without the snare is not so good either. Also the melodies are kind of weird and don't fit really into my ears. The song keeps jumping from melody to another too fast, and it sounds pretty poor. The beginning really promises more than there is to come. Some samples are good, but some samples are pretty bad. And I still cant make out what the man is saying in the vocal sample :)

The song starts from the beginning with an intense beat, and keeps the pace going for the whole song. Also this song is very melodic and variated for a dance song. Again a masterpiece in 4 channels. Samples are bad, usual .MOD quality. The composer must have spent a lot of time in composing, because there's not so much repetition, and everytime there starts a new melody playing, it's just great. Only thing to complain is the ending which could have been made better to increase the greatness of this song. A fade is not enough here.

After that the song get's pretty dark, with dark synths on the background and a slow drum beat within it. A dark song here with lots of creativity. Samples are all ok, but that kindergarten-melody is repeated pretty much in the song. The samples go perfectly with each other and the feeling is overall pretty great.

Aslan presents a club-like dance tune, with all samples ripped from "Life On Mars" by Asu. The song itself is pretty average, the piano melody is pretty good, and so are the strings and the bassline, but the lead synth doesn't sound tuned, atleast in some parts. Otherwise a nice dance tune, but with plenty repetition. I don't know if it such a good thing to take all the samples from one song, because it usually makes the song chained to one theme. Here the tune still sounds pretty nice and not too much same as "Life On Mars". Repetition causes the biggest harm in this one.

This is a very good sounding remix of a song in a game called Ninja Gaiden. Haven't played it though. A nice tune to listen to, and the shortness is not such a big problem, because game songs usually aren't so long lasting (except for maybe some FF7 songs... Uematsu is the god of gamemusic!!). Samples are average, but it is meant to be like that, I guess, because that gives the song some retro-feeling... Very beautiful song. This isn't as good as "TheOne", but still it's a good dancer, and a nice one to listen to. The best part is when the cool strings come in after 3:30, so keep listening, you'll get rewarded! Repetition of a boring lead melody starts... Maybe nice for some clubs, but not a real masterpiece. Repetition troubles NGS here, and the lead melody is poor. Again a promising beginning for the song, but after that it's just one of them average dance songs. Also the tune stops too suddenly. NGS is a good tracker, but this just isn't his best. The beginning is very promising with some cool synths giving excitement. This tune is just a drum beat with strings in it for almost 4 minutes, so this song is pretty much a failure. The few samples are good, but that's about the only thing good in this one. NGS should'nt have made this a hiphop song, he could have reinforced the strings with some guitars and added the drum beat to it and we would have a nice new age kind of song. But "Nicole" is better than these radio songs, it just has a better feeling and it's more melodic then some BSB songs that are quite the same style as this one. Samples are stunningly good for a mod, and the vocals fit well in to the song, especially the "rapping" is fit greatly into the drumbeat. A original version of the song below (nj-sat2.it). This song sounds quite the same overall as the harmony version, just some changes in the songs structure and the synth/piano is removed. This song is also too short, with only 2 minutes. The clear lead is missed in the tune and that drops the rating, because a dance tune without a lead is not so fantastic. Samples are good. No big mistakes in the melodies of the song, maybe because there are no real melodies (I mean like some synth melodies, maybe?). But a definite dancer for the 2 minutes that it lasts Samples are good and there are no errors. The synth sample didn't quite do it's job as the lead (don't know if it even was meant to be a lead), and the beat seems so lonely with out some good leads, which are very important to dance songs like these... This is not so good tune. Very repetitive and the samples aren't so good either. The song get's very boring. Some good ideas for the leads but they are repeated too much. For what I have listened now, Dj Dafuki somehow manages to pick lousy samples to his songs. If he would have chosen better samples in this one, it would have already increased the overall effect by 25-50%. Also some hi-strings are left looped on the background, I don't know if it is for purpouse, but it sounds bad. Also the composer should have added the tune some more samples that would have varied the theme and made the song more enjoyable to listen to. Here I have a song by Basehead, one of the most well-known trackers in the scene. A great tracker, so I've heard, but I have some negative expectations for the song. Why? Because it's ambient, the style which is definetly not my style, it's more on the rhythm basis for me. I just can't enjoy occasional strings and some weird sounds for 10+ minutes. The beginning is just like that. Thank god there starts a slow drum beat at 3 minutes, but it still doesn't confirm me of the greatness of the song. At 7 minutes it start's to sound a bit more interesting with some smooth drumming. Well, now that I've listened the song for some time, I start to think this song as a good song, so now Basehead has managed to change my opinion of ambient music. This is ambient at it's best. Basehead has done a great job at describing life under seas... Just imagine yourself scuba-diving there with all the beautiful fishes while listening to this one. This is propably the first ambient tune that I truly did enjoy to listen to. Maybe I'll try sometimes again ;) 11 minutes could be too much for someones, but if it's peaceful music that you're asking for, this is the very top class.

The real climax of the song is the aggressive ending which is done very unexpected and it sounds just great. Almost all samples made by the composer himself, and they are good. That always shows that the composer knows how to sample. And he plays the guitar also well, because some of the samples are guitar riffs. The lead guitar was the only bad sample, it was just too noisy. That was the reason the song didn't get 9 or better. Otherwise a great job. Very original song.

This song's style is pretty hard to describe, but I think that orchestral isn't so far from this one. The strings and percussion makes this song sounding the same as in some Arabian films, where the bellydancers dance to the rhythm of the flute players or what they are... The song is very good sounding, but it loses some touch when it slows down after 2:20. Very good sounding tune overall, the last 1:30 were pretty boring to listen, atleast for me, because they weren't so exciting and full of rhythms like the good beginning.
